Hi Sunline1
I really cannot help you on the 12 volt compressor, but I'll throw this out. After dealing with trying to find a gas station with a working compressor that will do 80 psi and a hose long enough to get to the camper, the next trip I had my own. And it now lives in the truck. And I have had to use it on my one TT tires when I had a valve leak and a buddies TV tires trying to dial in towing pressures.
It is a 120 vac unit. I use it in camp off the CG power to air up before I leave if I need to. Since I boondock I also have my genny on board so I have portable power. Mine has a 2 gallon tank, goes up to 115 psi, an air regulator, hose and air chuck for $50. It does not hold a candle to the Campbell Hausfield USA made Farm duty one I have at home bought years ago, but it does work for airing up my truck or TT tire in a pinch. Takes a bit but it is workable.
I was concerned the 12 volt jobs would not hold up hearing the folks talk about the burned up ones. I even worried about the expensive ones would not hold up when I need it, I spent the money and they still have issues. I worked through the power issue by having a no 10 gage 50 foot extension cord that lives in the camper under the bed. Some day I'll get an inverter big enough for other camper needs and I can use that too if I need.
Hopefully you will find some one who has had good luck with a 12 volt unit and can recommend one.
John
