support for bed in truck camper

I removed all the frame work for thr bed area, rot on walls, and bed. All repaired but I am wondering what supports the outside nose area of the bed frame. Is it the aluminum wrap that is the structural support??
Jim

Hi Jim,

We do not have too many truck camper members to help on this. But... we do have several member who have rebuilt their truck camper.

If you search for a screen name "Lode" he totally gutted his and started rebuilding it from the ground up. And he has some pictures posted here on the forum. I do not know if he ever finished it but I have seen pics of the entire new wood frame.

Good luck on yours and any pics you have that you can post really help so we can see what you are up agasint. We have many who have rebuilt TT's and can be a good sounding board to help suggest some ideas for yours.

To that supported the cab over bed??? Good question as from what I have seen the wood framing is not much more then the normal walls. It may be more the bonding of the inside luan to the wood frame creates a beam to hold it.

Good luck and hope this helps

John

Hi Jim,

Here is Jason rebuild.

http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f7...tion-9393.html

I myself still have not "yet" mastered our search feature. By pure luck I found this on a hit for "rebuild" under "Lode" name. If I did not know it existed I would of never found it. A new person searching may be totally lost. A take away is: One of us needs to master the search feature and post how to use it effectively.

Hope this helps

John

Structural bond

They truck campers over cab bunk uses the outer shell, frame work and the inner panel all to provide structural support. I rebuilt an older TC'ing a few years ago and when I tore it apart I discovered hat it all tied together.
