Thumbs down Furnace Issues????

OK so i finally found out (thanks to SUNLINE FAN) that my TC is a 1980 Sunline 8 1/2' SSDR TC, which later became the C-850. There are no markings that i can see on the furnace but all fingers seem to point to it being an ATWOOD. That year suposedley used a 9000 BTU furnace as standard. I cant seem to find any information on this anywhere. My problem is, I can light the Pilot Light, and the burner will slow burn, HOWEVER when you turn up the heat nothing happens. I tried turning it up and waited over 30 minutes with no change.... This particular one has no blower, and i see no wires running to the furnace other than the thermostat wire. Does any one have any ideas as to what might be my issue/issues?

Thermo couple? Sounds like the gas valve is not opening.

The pilot works and stays lit right? but no main burner? H'mm seems to point to the gas valve. The thermocouple is usually tied to the pilot light to keep it lit and you said it was working and remaining lit. If not, let us know.

You say yours has no blower? Wow. I have never seem one that old. If you can post some pics of the unit we can maybe find a manual on it. I have been pretty lucky finding something on these older units. A model number of the furnace would be really great.

Good luck and hope this helps

John

Update on the Furnace. Part of my issue was it needing cleaned. Another part is i discovered the Paneling outside the TC that surrounds the Furnace was seperating and causeing wind to easilly blow in and causeing ignition issues. I cleaned out all the Compartments for a thourough cleaning this past week, and found stuffed behind the kitchen drawers, the Documentation on most of the Appliances. The Furnace is a Hydro Flame Lowboy.

Check for bee's nests in the vent. It has to have good air flow for the igniter to work. Also you might try it while it's plugged in to the house a weak battery won't let the fan turn fast enough.

will have to check the vents again, though i'm pretty sure they were checked thoroughly already.
