What's This Called?

I found 1/2 of this in the camper tub this morn. The other half was threaded into the faucet. I'd like to replace it but darned if I know the name of it.
I know it connects the faucet to the hand held shower.
If you know the name, please let me know and even better if you know where I can find one. Maybe a link.
Thanks,
Ray

Do you have a dedicated shower faucet or a diverter from the bathroom sink faucet?

Based on your pic I have no idea what part it is.

If it helps though, you can very rarely buy any faucet parts individually. You usually have to buy a whole faucet. In most cases, it isn't worth the dealer's time to stock any faucet parts, their cost on the faucets is so minimal that it's easier for them to just sell a bunch of new faucets. Of course the guts of each faucet is different, so there would be many parts to have to stock.

The exceptions are you can buy a hose and shower head, and I believe you can buy the strainers for the regular faucets. Otherwise I think if you need a part beyond that, you're looking at a new faucet.

Maybe some of the small dealers who don't stock many parts anyway could have the ability to order individual parts, but I've never looked into it.

Jon

Hi Jon, It has a little "sit-down" tub, made by Duo-Form. Above the tub is what I thought was a regular faucet, but it's not. I think it's what you called a diverter, with hot/cold knobs to control the temp. Maybe if Duo-Form is still in business I can get a replacement that'll fit in with no mods necessary. I'll go and search google.
Thanks,
Ray

Hi Ray,

Duo Form would not have made the faucet, but yes, they are still in business. The faucet is probably a Phoenix if I had to make a guess. I believe they are still in business as well.

A diverter faucet would be one that is a regular sink type faucet that would fill the tub, but then has a thing out of the top of it where a hose could screw on for the shower. Most Sunlines in recent times only have a one way faucet where the shower hose connection is the only place water goes out. Even though some have tubs, they would be filled with the shower head/hose. I'm not sure about the ones of your age, I haven't seen many bathrooms of them. The smaller units with wet baths use the bathroom sink faucet to attach the shower hose to.

Do you have one that fills the tub as well as has a shower head connection?

Jon

The shower faucet in our '99 has the same part sticking out of the top of the body of it. BTW, the part is photographed upside down. The larger threaded section is where the hose to the shower head connects.

The part is replaceable. Look on the right hand side of this page from the go-rv.com catalog. Item #22746 is a RA-3 Jalco Vacuum Breaker. I found it for $4.99 at several online RV parts sellers.

Jon, OK & Thanks, My faucet does not fill the tub, just controls the shower water.
I've been searching since ur last post and found mostly the same.
Take a look at this, I think it's the same but made of metal. Do you think it's a replacement?
Later,
Ray

Ray, that part will work, too.

The exact replacement is the one I pointed out above, however.

Yup, I'm with Steve. My 2004 has the same vacuum breaker fitting and it is shown upside down.

However....I never knew it unscrewed out of there. Thanks!!!

Me neither, that's what threw me. I thought it went down into a T that the water valves connected to. I also thought in the first pic that it looked a lot larger than it was, I was thinking the small end was actually the size for the shower hose, though it wasn't the typical shape. So I couldn't figure out where it connected to that was that large.

Then my very first thought before I read, just by looking at the pic, was that it was part of one of those aftermarket swivel things for putting on a kitchen faucet.

See, learn something new every day here on SOC.....

There is also one the outside shower faucet and now I know it too unscrews...

I'm still curious as all get out on what axle setup is on Merv's camper in the repairs forum...
