What's the Black Spigot For?
On my 2475, below the water tank fill near the bottom of the side (driver's side outside) is a black spigot. I cannot find anything about it in any of the literature I have. Can some one clue me in on what it is for?
Thanks!
Jon

Hi Jon,
That spigot is your fresh water tank drain. Turning it all the way one way will open the drain completely, and turning it the other will close it. When you fill the tank for the first time, make sure to watch the drain to make sure it's not open. It shouldn't be, but who knows.

Hi Jon,
If you did get a weak trickle, you may want to check to see if the tank has anti-freeze in it. I personally prefer to winterize with air, but most people prefer the anti-freeze. If you go to unwinterize and drain/flush out the tank, you may want to collect the water in a bucket, or at least the first few bucketfulls. This way, you don't have to worry about a pet (if you have one) coming up and drinking it. They say it is safe to drink, but still...
Jon
P.S. I've learned from experience!

Hi Jon (joncassino),
On our trailer turning the fresh water tank drain valve counter clockwise (i.e., so the handle is pointing toward the front of the trailer) opens the valve.
Turning it clockwise (i.e., so the handle is pointing toward the back of the trailer) closes the valve.
Some valves you can open too far counter-clockwise so it actually starts to close a little. If there's water in the tank (or put water in the tank to a little < 1/3 full) and move your drain valve to figure out which way is open and which is closed. In the open position you should be able to adjust the valve position slightly that adjusts the flow of water.
I used a Sharpie to mark the value to identify which way is open and which way is close.

Mine was open the first time I filled the tank. Closed that, put more water in the tank, ran the pump a few minutes to fill the water heater-no water, no pressure. Look under the coach and water is flowing out of 2 drain pipes. Inside, next to the water heater, are 2 valves to drain the water lines. Closed them and got everything workiing fine. Markiing the valves with a Sharpie is a great idea, I'll do that this weekend.

Mike,
I finally saw that new Sunline setting on the hill on the way to Copenhagen. Looks great.

Thanks Harvey,
It's at my daughter's house. I live on the curve and don't dare keep it there. My last TT got hit while parked at my house so I want this one to last.
