That New RV Smell

We have been kicking a few tires in the past and recently. Some of the camper brands about knock you down w/ formadehyde.

Those of you with new Sunlines, how bad is the formadehyde?

I am highly allergic to formadehyde.

One good thing about them going out of business they have been sitting on the lots a while and are hopefully outgassing.

I figure any TT we get new will need to be aired out.

Is there anything we could use to outgas the formaldehyde

BB: I answered that for you over on the other forum! We never experienced any "outgassig" at all with both our Sunlines and both were bought NEW and relatively right after production dates!

So I doubt you will experience any reaction what - so - ever!

We are one of the few manufacturers that have as much of the formaldehyde as possible removed for the paneling (the worst offender). It is called LOFT (low omission formaldehyde treatment).

BB,

While researching Sunlnes I contacted LaRue about this same question. My wife also has severe formaldehyde allergies and going to RV shows was a big problem for her. When we looked at Sunlines, she commented how it didn't affect her formaldehyde allergies as other models did. The fact that a company went the extra mile to reduce these dangerous chemicals was a huge selling point to us. This is our first year with our Sunline and we are extremely happy with it.

If I ask a question on another forum it has no ties with this one. I am sure there are more Sunline people on another forum too. Another person may be wondering the same thing.

Which campers use an over amount of formadehyde and which do not.
Sunline must not.
Thank you Mike for the kind response.

As I stated I am allergic and my husband who generally isn't was practically knocked down by one brand's smell. It gave us both headaches immediately and made our eyes water.

Best,

BB

Shall we all chill now???

BB,

When I picked up my 2499, it was a wednesday, July 6th and I left thur morning for a 4 day weekend. NO out gassing problem. And my mom was 80 on that trip.

That is one thing I have always noticed about Sunlines whenever I would be at a dealers lot, (I love to look, get "mod" ideas that way), the "OTHER" brands would be so offensive when you entered them, some I couldn't even proceed to look at. This never happened with Sunline, no matter how HOT the temp. was.

Sure glad I found Sunline many years ago.

Kitty
