Source of canvas covers for storage

Sunline 1981 13 1/2 RD
I would like to find a canvas cover for storage. Is there a vendor that produces covers specifically for Sunline trailers
OR
one that will fit reasonably well?

Welcome iconoclast,

There are several brands of camper covers, some brands have generic sizes or they can create a custom cover for any brand camper. The generic cover has certain fixed camper widths and lengths they fit, each brand may have different lengths. In this case, you pick a cover that fits in the range they offer. The excess length of the cover, most times gets gathered up and strapped up many times at the front of the camper. Zippers are abundant in some of them to allow you to get into the camper when the cover is on. (just to service something inside, not to camp with)

A custom cover, they would make the cover to fit to your length or width camper. The brand of camper does not really matter, you can tell them your brand and model, they may have a chart and can look it up, or they will just ask you for the dimensions of the camper and they will create one to fit.

Something else, your 1981 13 1/2 RD is a 6' 3" wide body camper, many of the newer campers are 8' wide. You will have to search for both length and width and not accidently get an 8' wide cover as that will be way too wide.

These posts talk to some of the brands out there. Some things to remember, get a fabric that breaths, but yet is water proof. Get a fabric for your region. Consider this a place to start, you may end up calling the companies and see if they offer the smaller widths. Now a days, small campers are coming back, so this may not be as hard to get, it just may be a custom cover.

Maybe one of our other members with one the smaller width campers can chime in on what they bought. I have only bought the 8' wide ones.

Hope this helps

John

PS, covers may only last about 3 years, some ,more it all depends on wind tears or sun deterioration or both. And then there are grades of some brand, the more cost, the better the warranty, life span.
