Smoke Alarm and humidity

Yesterday and today was one of those days you could cut the humidity with a knife. I went outside this morning and my TT was beeping at me. I opened the door and the smoke alarm was going off .... again. 3 beeps then 2 beeps. I remembered it happened a few times last summer, always when we had a day of high humidity. I know it is sensitive to ANY smoke. When I grill outside and see the breeze blowing toward the door I know the alarm will go off, and it does. I just take it down and put it on the chair and am thankfull that it is sensitive. Putting it on the chair soon reminds me to put it back up before I sit down.

I wonder if anyone else has had the alarm go off with just high humidity.

YES on the original ones Sunline provided. The technology gets triggered by the moisture. We added the Sunline one in the bed room, when we took a shower the moisture set it off often. I have since converted both to the newer technology from Kiddi that also has a carbon monoxide senor in it and talks to me. Fire, Fire.....

The toaster sets it off every time unless we take it down. And the new Kiddi's I have have a nice base on them that allows me to unscrew the detector off quick and easy when I need to.

The new ones are not affected by the moisture. We have 2. One in the bed room one in the kitchen area. Our camper has a center bath that cuts the camper in 1/2. Piece of mind was adding a 2nd one.

John

Thanks John. I was reluctant to replace it since I knew it worked well .... except for the moisture. I never thought about one with a carbon monoxide detector ..... maybe it is time to change it.
