Lisa...slide the clip all the way to the left and THEN put the board in...When I finally get around to it,I will find a piece of dowel about 12 to 15" long to use..maybe spray them both black so they won´t be so obvious. I don't like having to close and lock the window each time I leave for a short time...however, the other breakin and robbery is still fresh in my mind.
Another thing I have done on each camper,is install a hook and eye lock on the screen door..one that has a spring safety catch on it...for those stops in rest areas or naptime in a campground. Also good for when you are away from the camper for a bit, then you reach in thru the door slide and open--however, others won't know about having to use the spring...be aware if you do this, you must remove the screen door 'hold open latch' or you can lock yourself out if the door closes...it will stick to the screen door latch!! This is very hard to explain but believe me since I speak from experience...I just remove the 'hold open latch' thingy on the big door and turn it upside down so it is there if I decide to change back. I may be a bit paranoid now but 'been there, done that'....Janalee
