Satellite T2150 Plumbing Questions

Hello,

We purchased what we think is a 1988 Satellite T2150 a couple of weeks ago. The tag is missing and the title says 22ft. Our floorplan is exactly that pictured in the 1987 brochure for a T2150. This is our first Travel Trailer and we are trying to educate ourselves on how the plumbing system works. From what we understand,we have 3 tanks on board, We have a 24 Gallon Fresh Water Tank, A 25 Gallon Gray Water Tank, and a 25 Gallon Septic Black Water Tank. Now, we do understand that the fresh water tank is to be filled and when not at a campsite, the water pump will pump fresh water to any fixtures for use. We also understand that the sink and shower drains will flow to the gray water tank and the commode will flow to the black water tank. (If we are wrong at any point please help us out! LOL)

Here are the valves that we see on our TT. We have a black water tank valve and port on the street side (driver side) in front of the axles towards the front. Also on the street side, towards the rear near the electrical hatch, we have a round water inlet/outlet? with a 3/4" Female garden hose end affixed to it. On the curb side (passenger side) near the entry door with a lockable hatch, there is what we assume to be another 3/4 valve inside. We will have to pick the lock because the previous owner lost the key.

Our intial questions are:

1. What is the 3/4" Female Garden Hose fitting on the street side rear near the electrical hatch for? Is it a gray water tank drain?
2. What is the Hatch on the curb side near the entry door with what we presume to be another 3/4" fitting inside used for? Is this the city water hookup/fresh water tank fill?

I'm sure we will have plenty more questions. This is just a starting place. We do understand that the tanks will need some special maintenance with sterilizing and sanitizing before using them. We just need to learn how to use them first.

We are not sure if it worked but we tried to upload a couple pictures of our TT. These are pictures from the previous owner and it has since been cleaned up, polished and the door has been rebuilt.

Thanks In Advance.

Welcome to the club!!

The 3/4" connection is to connect water service to the trailer. Connecting a garden hose will supply water to the trailer, bypassing the tank/pump. Most people recommend using a presuure regulator on the hose due to some connections having much higher presure than the trailer system is designed for. It is not a grey tank drain, gray and black water drain through the same black pipe, look for another valve near the black tank valve/port there should be one there for the grey tank also.

EDIT: In looking at the picture of the passenger side of your rig, it appears that the black tank valve is to the left of the outlet, and the valve to the right of the outlet (in the slightly smaller pipe) is the grey valve.

This is your fresh water tank fill and should be able to be opened with a "standard" CH751 key. The same key should open all exterior compartments. If you don't have one (check your key ring they are VERY common), ask another camper (yes, they are that common) or a locksmith should be able to supply you one.

Your city water hookup and fresh tank/pump are seperate, but parallel systems. You can get water to the trailer by either hooking up to city water or by filling the fresh water tank and using the pump.

Search the forums on here for instructions on tank care, there are several good threads.

Mack, Thanks a bunch!! So, there should be (2) drain valves that feed into a single septic dump outlet? I only remember seeing 1 pull lever but Im discovering new things every day about this TT.

Thanks again!

It appears (it is in the shadows, so I might be off) that the black valve handle is to the left of the outlet and pulls to the front of the trailer (parallel to the trailer) and the grey valve is to the right of the outlet and pulls straight out to the side of the trailer.

That's the same setup as my 1983 t-1550. The black tank valve is on the left and opens toward the front of the trailer. The grey tank is on the right and opens away from the trailer.
