Radio Antenna

I have a question that will undoubtedly show my ignorance about my Sunline. There are stickers on the ceiling and inside one of the kitchen cabinets that lead me to believe that the trailer is prewired for a stereo. But, one was never installed. I'd like to install a stereo and I have a question about the antenna. Does anyone know if my Sunline (1986 T2461) came with a radio antenna installed? Or, does the radio use the TV antenna? Or, do I need to install an after market antenna? If I need to install an antenna, I'd love to hear some suggestions on what antenna to buy and where/how to install it on the trailer. I'd like something that pulls in AM as well as FM. I'd really like to be listening to baseball next summer through the trailer stereo instead of my old AM transistor radio. Thanks for any wisdom you can pass along.

John

John,
On our 1950 there was a separate radio antenna. I am not sure what or even if there is a separate antenna on our 2075. We started using XM a couple of years ago, so we virtually never listen to standard radio anymore.
FYI- XM has MLB so you can listen to your favorite team where ever you travel.
Downside is you pay a monthly fee for the service (not just MLB, but the whole service, MLB is included).

John,

Yes, the radio antenna is an entirely different deal. Sunline used the following antenna for quite a while. At one time, it was mounted on the side instead of the roof, but most are on the roof. If your coach didn't come with a built in radio, it won't have an antenna. Roof mounting might be a little easier as long as you properly seal around it.

Jon,
Thanks for tracking that down for me. I haven't decided what I'm going to do for an antenna yet. I'm leaning toward something powered like this marine antenna:

http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...3&classNum=722

I like the fact that it is supposed to amplify the signal and it attaches with double-sided foam tape. Less holes to seal. Any thoughts on how well this antenna would work?

Use an antenna designed for a motorcycle. Mount inside your cabinet.
No holes nowhere. I removed the one from my roof, didn't like the idea
of another leak source.
