Questions about our 2001 Sunlite just purchased

Hello. This is Mike from Eastern Ohio. I retired a little over 3 years ago and we are getting back into camping (after 25 years) so we can take our grandkids camping. We just purchased a 2001 Sunline 2475 in a very clean condition from a nice couple. However there are a couple questions I have. First, is there anyway to lubricate the windows so they go up and down easier, and ifso, what to use? Spray lube or what? Secondly, our outside shower where the hose connects to your hand held nozzle. The plastic ring that has threads on it and screws to the hand held nozzle is cracked and will not hold. It seperates as we screw it to the nozzle. Any Ideas ? Third -The mini blind that is next to our dinette has one of the lift strings that is not lifting causing only the right side to lift. Do we need to get a new mini blind or what? Not much room to work there as a valance is in the way.
To get our refridgerator cold for when we send off on one of the mornings, since we are too far from an electrical outlet and will need to use our propaign, how much of the gas does it use to run the fridge overnight ?
Next I broke one of the small plastic hold downs for one of our mini blinds. Any tips on where to purchase them in a small quantity, say 5 or 6 pair? Thank you all in advance and this is a FANTASTIC site.

Hi Mike, Welcome to the forum.

I have never had a problem with the window but I use Silicone spray for the crankup Batwing antenna as recomended by Winegard. I also use that on the metal shafts that open/close the grey and black tank valves. I suspect a small amount would work on the metal edges of the window(s) that slide up and down.

I know people here have removed the blinds and it can be tricky but that is something I have never done either. I am confident someone here will be able give you the exact steps. Sounds like just a broken cord that can be repaired.

The fridge only uses a small amount of LP, you can run for a week on much less that one tank. The furnace however can be a real hog for LP and suck a tank dry in a couple of days.

I do believe that any (household) shower hose will fit the outside shower.....just replace the hose.

OK - so maybe I did not understand where it is broken - can you post a picture?

On the end of the hose, there is a plastic piece that has a female thread. The end of the shower wand (the part that you hold onto) screws onto this. Well, that plastic piece has a hairline crack that when you try and screw the handheld shower piece onto it, it just expands and will not hold the shower wand.

The back of the outside shower is accessable from the cabinet under the counter next to the sink. The shower hose connects to the outside faucets and goes inside, wraps around a bit and then goes back outside.

You can buy mini blinds at a big box the slats come out you just need to fine the right size and remove the slats until they fit your windows You could probably run your fridge for months 24/7 on a 20# tank. I wonder if what you are talking about on the shower hose is a back flow valve? Try a curtain shop for mini blind parts.

WOW is yours easy to get to. Mine sits under the refrigerator behind the converter which is under a divider for the silverware drawer.
Easier to to remove from out side. Once it's out put in a whole new unit and be done with it.

PS, Some of the newer units the hose don't go back into the camper. Hose attachment point is in the box and hose and head stores in completely in box

If you're interested in getting new mini-blinds, try blinds.com. They make mini-blinds in whatever size that you need (including smaller widths and lengths) and you'll pay about what you'd pay at a big box store and get them exact size. If you go to the site, look under "blinds" and look for their 1" economy mini-blind. We just got two for a house we're selling and they were very good quality and shipping was free. Just make sure that you ask customer service to include holders for the bottom of the blinds.

Do any of you feel that a handheld shower hose will fit on the campers water outlet. I know I at least have to get a new outside shower hose, but if it will fit, I will just purchase the hose along with the hand-held nozzle at Walmart or Quality Supply. Our local RV store is out of them. Thanks......Mike

WOW, someone new from Ohio joining the club! Great! There are a few of us and hoping to find more. We are in the area of north west Columbus. Southern Delaware county actually.

The blinds, if you have not figured out how to take them out, this is how our 2004 ones come out.

Pull the blind full up.
Undo the curtains from the valance. Most velcro on.
Now look straight up on the end of the blind. Our has a small metal hinged clip that you use a screw driver and flip it open. The vertical face is what flips open. It is a box when the flip door is closed.
Flip open both the left and right side. The blind will still be hanging in the C clip shape that is left.

Then grab the blind and slide it off the metal C clip towards the wall and out it comes.

This is the only pic I have on line that shows the metal clips. See the white one where the blind would go screwed to the valance board. The clip is a box until you flip open the vertical side door. Then it forms a C The door that flips open is the vertical side by the wall
