Hi Joe,

Your pics are coming through great!!!

Someone did a paint and dress up on your camper, including the floor was redone.

Have fun this year, spring is coming and not fast enough. The Covid winter blues have for sure set in...

Thanks for sharing.

John

The 2007 models had the choice of two different color cabinet wood, Cherry or Maple. I'm not totally sure if there was a build date that marked when in the 2007 model year you would get Maple or Cherry. Sunline Fan may have that info. If you still have the original owners manual and the build sheet, it will tell the colors it came with. You can also look inside the cabinets as I do not know if they painted the insides or not. The Cherry was the newer color, the 2004's to early 2007's were on Maple.

For the Cherry look, see the 2007 sales brochure for the color scheme when new. While it may not show your exact model, it will show the cabinets, walls, drapes and flooring. Surprised on such a new Sunline they painted it, but each camper owner makes them their own and they wanted the white look.

For the Maple look, see the 2006 sales brochure.

To get to the files section, you need to be logged into the forum. At the top of the forum are tabs, look for the word "FILES" click it.

Once into the files section, scroll down to the "Sunline Brochures" section. Go in there and find a sale brochure for the camper model year you are looking for and down load a copy.

Hope this helps,

John

I can see it now, you had the Cherry.

See the wooden grab handle by the door, it is the cherry color. That would of been a tanish maple color if it was the maple. That cherry color is what the other wood work was.

H'mm, lets compare notes as I can get into the FILES section from my phone.

- I have an Iphone, a 6S (yes I know it is old in phone years)
- I log into the forum directly from the standard web address. I am not using an Viewer app, like Tapatalk etc.

- I go to, https://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/ and log in. This works using the Bing browser or Safari on my phone.

-When logged into the forum this way, the entire forum looks like it does on the PC, just smaller.

- All the tabs at the top of the forum work when I use this method of logging in.

How are you viewing the forum from your phone and are you logged in? You have to be a club member and logged in to get into the FILES section.

John

Hi Joe,

Attached are a few examples of what an '07 2553 with the (standard) cherry wood interior looked like. This particular coach has the Misty Blue fabric choice.

Personally I'm a huge fan of the cherry, which is partly why I bought one. It was a one year only choice, just introduced for the 2007 (final) model year.

I don't see any samples of the original fabrics to see what color you may have had in the pics you provided. If you have the original owner's manual binder, that would tell you. Otherwise, we can keep digging. There's a chance I also have it recorded if you PM me with your VIN.

Thanks,
Jon

Sorry, I'm not an android guy to help tell you how to get it to work.

If you are logged in, the system will show "Welcome Turbojoe" in the top right of the forum screen. Welcome will be in bold black. If the system does not show you as logged in, then the files will not be accessible and you cannot post from the phone. BUT, you can read all posts, not logged in.

Maybe one of our members with an android phone can help.

John

If you can confirm you still cannot get to the files, and you are sure logged in on your phone, then,

Let us know the make/model of phone and I can have our tech support group look into this.

If you are thinking of refinishing, there is quite a bit that is not solid wood. The cabinet doors, for example, are solid wood, but the cabinet body is luan or particleboard with faux wood paper (for lack of a better term) on it.

On your phone, the default view is limited. Scroll to the very bottom, and you should see a link entitled "View full site". Tapping that will give the same view as you get on your PC.

To add to what Tod said, the walls are vinyl wallpaper bonded to 1/8" laun plywood.

If you attempt to use any kind of stripper/harsh chemical to remove the white paint, it will take off all the preprinted pattern that was in the original wall board under the paint. The whole wall will then be really white.

The cabinet sides and front cabinet stiles are wood, they are wrapped wood. Think of the best looking contact paper one has ever seen making it look like real wood. The sides are 1/8" luan with the wrapping and the front stiles are 3/4" thick some kind of super light wood, wrapped. The actual doors have solid 3/4" stained wood on the outer band of it. The inner panels on the doors, well it depends. The top cabinets might be veneer plywood, the bottom cabinets may be wrapped 1/8" luan plywood.

The counter top itself, is Formica bonded to 1/8" luan on top, a hollow center core and a 1/8" luan panel wrapped on the bottom. The edging was 3/4" thick boarder real wood stained. It looks like they painted the tops of the Formica to a gray color.

If the white color scheme is not your thing, well, you are sort left with painting or possibly commercial wall paper for the walls. The do sell the best looking counter top contact paper in Lowes one has ever seen. It is made for counter tops. Just it is a paper stick on product and any digs in it, will dig through it. I never knew they made such a thing, but our daughter did it in her home kitchen for a make over until new counter tops would come. It came out amazing as far a looks, it looks like marble in her case. They have other patterns.

For the cabinets, they do sell a lot of wood looking contact paper patterns now or you can change to other colors of paint. Not sure how they prepped the surfaces before painting, if it is stuck on really well and can go through winter/spring/summer, freeze/thaw and heat blast, then it can be stuck on well.

Many of our members have done makeovers. It is common to do.

Another fan of the cherry cabinets but it’s not uncommon for people to paint their RV cabinets in an attempt to update the interior. Congrats on your new-to-you Sunline!
