Need to replace tongue jack

Hello,
I need to replace the tongue jack on the front of my 2006 Sunline 2075.
I need to know the exact dia. and load size to get. The gears feel stripped and it is tough to jack up the trailer. I am looking to replace it with an electric jack. Is this an easy job to do? It looks as easy as supporting the tongue and then removing the 3 bolts. Any info on brand and size would be greately appreciated.

Thank you
Chris

Most all electric tongue jacks are standard size.. As far as I've seen. Replacement is as straightforward as it seems. I have seen them wired to the wiring junction box, but I have always wired them directly to the battery. The power wire will come, with an inline fuse.

As far as size goes... Get the largest one your budget can handle. A stronger jack, will be less likely to strip it's gears.

Personally, I have used Atwood and Barker. The Barker unit I have, has been on at least 12 different Sunlines. It did strip it's gears once and Barker sent me a new set for free. They even sent instructions on how to change them.

The dry tongue weight on the T-2075 was listed at 570lbs. A 2,500lb tongue jack should work. Have you measured your actual loaded tongue weight yet?

Re: Need to replace tongue jack

For $30. more u can have a Barker 3500. If u ever change trailers you'll have enough jack. I've had mine on 2 trailers. This one a 2001 T2553

Yes, go with the most powerful you can and it is very easy to switch out. Just put the trailer on your tow vehicle and change the jack out with the 3 bolts. You should be able to do it in 20 min or so depending on how rust locked your bolts are on the old jack.
