Mounting an E-Z Hose Carrier
I purchased an E-Z Hose Carrier last year from CW. It's a white plastic tube used to store & carry the sewer hose without putting the hose in the metal TT bumper. The holes for mounting the E-Z Hose Carrier (5 1/4" apart) are wider apart than the flat sides of the bumper (4"). I'm looking for suggestions on how to easily mouth the E-Z Hose Carrier onto our 2007 T-2753. Thanks!

I restock those things all the time. I think they're designed to also be under-mounted on the frame. I'd look into bolting it just in front of your rear jacks, so that way it shouldn't get ripped off if you drag.
Another option would be to get some big u-bolts like the spare tire carriers use and put that around your bumper tube. Wouldn't look the best, but it would be fairly easy to install.
This is what your talking about, right:

Munting E-Z Hose Carrier
Yes, that is exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks for your suggestions. -- John

When I bought one of those (and only once), I had the same problem you are having. I purchased hose clamps from Lowes, spray painted them with white rustoleum and that worked.
The other problem I had, was while traveling, the end would turn, open and allow the hose to slip out. I put a screw eye in the center of the cap and a mini-bungee on it and hooked the ends of the bungee to the hose clamps to keep the end from turning.
I now use my plastic 5" x 5" fence post cover and it works better for me.

I'm not sure if you'll have enough room on the "I" part of the frame, but I was thinking of getting one and mounting it along the side of the frame.
I'd just drill 4 holes on the side of the frame and bolt it right on there.
If I have enough room, I'll make sure to post a bunch of pictures when I do it.

I'm glad I wasn't following you! I hope the hose was dry!

Jon,
Maybe it was you . Because the fella that was passing me honked his horn and pointed back towards my trailer and motioned for me to pull over. SO, I did and found my "new" sewer hose just about to drag on the ground. So I removed the hose, put it in storage and continued on to campground. That is where I did the mod for securing the cap onto the pipe. What I don't understand is, when I would be turning the darn cap to open or close it, it was really hard to turn, but give it some bumps and it'll open right up for ya.
My square pvc fence post cover is easier to use, as the fittings have plenty of room, and both ends are wide open for air flow. I just have long eye bolt thru each end and they have never come loose.

Hi John,
I mounted mine under the frame.
I bought 2 of those tubes, one for a 10’ sewer hose (48” tube) and one 20’ sewer hose (64” tube). I attached the 2 carriers together and attached them under the frame:
I used a metal bracket to bolt them to the I-Beam.
On the other end, I was able to attach the other end to the rear storage box that hangs down a little and the box's support bracket.
I have an slide room model so I have plenty of ground-to-frame clearance.

As Pat suggested, the other alternative is to mount them to the side of your frame, along the length of frame. I helped a friend install his along the side of his frame of his 5ver. It's worked out very well for him. If you do this method, make sure there’s enough room to get the hose in and out of the tube. On his 5ver, we were limited to where on the frame after putting the tub on there was still enough room to get the hose in and out.
Hope this helps.

Mounting E-Z Sewer Hose Carrier
I looked under the TT. The E-Z Hoser Carrier cannot be mounted across the trailer using the frame. The carrier is 46 1/2 inches long, not including the end "plugs." Definately not long enough to mount on one side frame and the other side frame. Unless someone presents a better solution, looks like I'll have to mount it lengthwise along the I frame. I'm still open to suggestions.

I used regular PVC drainage pipe and the REALLY big zip-ties that you can get at the hardware store (or Home De(s)ot or (be)Lowe's if you like the big stores).
The BIG zip ties are about 20" long, and thick (like the plastic handcuffs the police are using now). I hung my PVC (painted black) with the ties under the rear bumper.
It looks as if you could use the same idea, but instead of below, go above (unless you have extra clearance)- use some for the mounting bracket holes, and some around the tube itself.
Best of all, they're CHEAP!
It's hard to see the tube, but the zips haven't been painted to match yet...

If you decide to use the zip-ties, look for the "UV Resistant" ones. My Lowes carries them in black, they are for exposure to the elements. I like the ideal of painting the tube black, I just might have to remove mine in the spring and do that to it.

I used the spraypaint (Wally World) for plastics, and it worked like a charm- and doesn't rub off like regular spray paint does (on plastic).

My EZ carrier fits perfectly exactly where I wanted it, along the top of the rear bumper. The squared U clamp spreads from 4" to 5 1/4". I tried to attach a picture but was completely unable to do so.

OK, I'm going to try again with the picture.
Wow, if that was any smaller, I'd need a magnifying glass......Wait, I DO need a magnifying glass!

Mounting an E-Z Hose Carrier
I'd appreciate a larger photo from Hematite. Where did you purchase the square U clamps? Thanks!

I would think you could get the square clamps at any home improvement store, or perhaps at your local trailer or RV dealer- they appear to be the same size as the ones that hold on the bumper-mounted accessories like tire carriers and bike racks...

I had all I could do to get that tiny little photo on my reply! I'm not having much luck with photos. This was on the Sunline when I bought it and my suspicion is that the clamps are available at an RV dealer. The bottom of the flat "U" is 4" across and it just spreads to fit the tube. The tube DOES have a thick metal plate there between the bumper and the tube so you don't snap the plastic mounting bosses off the tube. I'll try to get a larger picture on this thread.

If you go into the photo hosting site, and click directly on the photo, you should be able to resize it to a different aspect. I had a heck of a time figuring it out (I kinda stink with computers) until my wife showed me.
In photobucket, you click on the picture, then go to "resize" in the menu, then change the size from there. After you resize, then you should go back and regenerate the file info., and then refresh your computer, THEN repost the pic. (kind of a pain, but that's what I had to do to my signature photo).
Unfortunately, I tried to save your photo so I could resize it, and it won't resize- but hey, I tried!

OK I'm trying to resize to 640x 480
