Microwave outlet lost power

Here's my issue. When last used the microwave worked fine. Most recent use the microwave no longer worked. First thing I checked was the breaker box below the refrigerator. All seemed fine. I switched the microwave breaker off and then back on. A couple times. No help there. When I checked the outlet, which was installed in the cupboard above the sink in my 1998 Solaris T2753, there was no power. I removed the outlet and checked the wiring itself and there was still no power. Frankly I'm stumped. I'm assuming here, yeah I know about assuming, that this is a dedicated outlet for the microwave only so it should not be "wired through" the gfci outlet just above the sink. Is there possibly another switch somewhere I don't know about? The book I received with the RV is of no help. No wiring diagrams or anything like that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I seem to remember someone saying they had a switch, I believe on the wall in the kitchen, that toggled between the Microwave and some other heavy electric draw (water heater, maybe??) that kept you from running them at the same time.

Hi Hubba,

Did you find your problem?

Here is our 1 and only wiring diagram from a 2004 T2499 I had

Sunline Coach Owner's Club - Sunline Owner's Files - Sunline Solaris T-2499 Wiring Diagram

In 2004 the microwave was on it's own breaker. The switch Mack is referring to "I think" was for a CSA rating. (Canada code requirement) If your has this feature then it may be part of the problem.

If yours is by any chance wired like the 2004's where, check the breaker itself on the bus bar or the wire going into it. The bus bar can wiggle off enough to not make contact and the terminal screw loosen up. Some converters are better than others in how the breakers are held in.

Hope this helps

John

Thanks for the info, John, et al. So far it appears not to be resetting the GFCI or a separate toggle switch on the wall. I'll try the wiring diagram to see if it's the same or similar but in any case I know there is a separate breaker for the microwave so I'll be checking the wiring connectivity there. Unfortunately that will have to wait until my next trip to the campsite.
