Hi Justin,

Sunline used a few different brand slide mechanisms over the years. What year and model number so you have? We need to know more about which one you have.

And by any chance do you know the brand of slide mechanism? If you do not, we can see if we can back into it from your model and year.

The Lippert brand motorized slide mechanisms were use on the super slide, floor level slides starting around year 2001 ish to 2002. Before that they used a Barker motorized system.

And then there was a small slide above the floor, usually only the couch would slide out and it was not a floor level slide. The slide was more like 8 to maybe 10" off the floor of the camper.

Transit bars, or poles, were used on many of the earlier slides to help keep the slide from opening. They wedged in between the wall and the slide flange when the slide was retracted in during towing. They were not required on the more newer Lippert systems, 2005 and newer. Does yours use transit bars?

A question if you know the answer, you said "manual slide" does this mean you crank it open by hand? No motor.

And if a manual crank, by chance do you know if the screw system is actually unscrewing or is it that just the slide moved but the screw did not?

Has the problem always happened or did it just start? Trying to find out if the problem came with the camper or is use to work and now does not. Did you buy the camper new from Sunline or used?

Thanks

John

2000 23sl I believe. You just push out and in. Looks like it uses transit bars. I bought used. Bars keep coming off while driving. Not sure where they exactly go

OK trying to help here. I do not know exactly which camper you have

A 23sl does not show up in the year 2000 brochures, the 1999 or the 2001. The 2001 Advancer series does have a small couch slide but they are a LS25R and a LS26M.

Can you check your model number again? The "FILES" tab on the top of the forum, click it. And in there are a sub folder called "Brochures" scroll down to your year and see if you can find the floor plan and what model it was. They also had an Advancer series around that time frame. You down load a copy and you need to be logged in to get them. Also they only let you down load a file so fast. If it tells you to slow down on the 2nd file, wait a little and then try again.

BUT, it seems you have transit bars just they keep falling out.

Can you post a picture of the transit bar and a pic of the inside of the camper with the slide in?

We can help possibly sort out how to install them and where. I do recall some of the older transit bars that we more elaborate. They were square tube with and adjustable tension device. Mine, in 2003/2004 are just straight pieces of IMC conduit cut to the right length with rubber stoppers on them. They wedge in at the top of the slide between the wall and the slide flange. Like this

I also did not know Sunline made a manual push slide. I have seen hand crack units, but not manual push, no crank, well no not yet.... But we all learn something new all the time!!! I have seen a pop up manual push in and out slides, maybe Sunline did a small run of prototype types.

Try and get some pics up and we can help you sort this out. They have to have enough tension and I have found they need to be on the top as on the side they fall out often.

Hope this helps

John

This sounds like it could be a Sun-Lite trailer...a completely different brand from Bristol, IN.
