I believe you might have a 2004 camper? Yes/no? Assuming yes, then the VIN number shows up in 3 different places in the camper for a 2004 unit.
On the front left side of the camper is a VIN sticker with the year, model, VIN and the axle ratings and GVWR.
Inside the camper, is a weight sticker. Pending the floor plan it can be in a top kitchen cabinet or a bathroom top cabinet. This sticker has the model and the VIN along with weights on the camper.
Find the main entry door to your camper. Down at the floor inside the camper is a threshold plate on the floor between the door frame and over the flooring. Most have 3 screws holding them down. Lift up that inside floor plate and a VIN tag is there. I have seen them from being a little aluminum plate stamped to a stick on plastic key punched tag.
Since your a fellow Ohioian, (welcome!) if you have a copy of the title from the prior owner signed over to you, the VIN shows up on the title as well. When you go to get plates for it and the camper came from out of state, the BMV will want to do an inspection to prove the VIN number on the camper is correct and the camper is not stolen. They will not trust and out of state title even.... If the VIN tag outside is degraded, the inside weight sticker should do it. The person inside the BMV comes out and personally looks at the VIN number. At least this is how it was done in 2007 when I bought our Sunline from a dealer in PA. When I bought our T-1950 this spring, it was already titled in Ohio so no inspection was needed.
