Help! - Odor

We have just purchased (not taken possession yet) a '98 Solaris 21'. Everything seems to be in fantastic shape and working order, but we noticed a very strong "plastic-y" odor in the camper. Definitely not organic, more chemical-like.

Does anyone have any insight as to what it might be? And how to get rid of it?

TIA,
Darlene

Darlene.....

In a model of that age, no original equipment materials would be likely to be emitting a plastic chemical odor.

I would recommend questioning the seller re: possible repairs or replacement activities . Sometimes solvent-based panel adhesives or caulks produce such noticable odors, as do some new plastic panels or molded parts.
