Help identifying and weight
Hi Everyone - thanks for the add! I have an opportunity to buy what the owner says is a 12ft long 1979 Sunline. I asked the owner if he knew the weight and he said approximately 3,000. From searches I did, if he’s right about the year and length, my searches tell me that the weight is actually 1150, which would be perfect for me. I’ve included some pictures here. Would you please help me identify this one and the weight? I can add more pictures of outside and inside if it will help. Thanks!

Hi,
Something is not adding up on the length. Sunline lists the length as tow ball to rear bumper in the brochures. While Sunline did make a 1979, 12 1/2 MC that is 12 feet long bumper to ball, it only has 1 window on the door side. Your pic show 3 windows on the door side with a single axle which is a larger unit than 12 feet.
The seller may be calling the length the box length of the camper, meaning front wall to back wall and not tow ball to rear bumper.
We need pics of the back and the non door side to help better. I'm having a hard time sorting out, 3 windows on the door side and single axle. It seems the 78,79 & 80 campers went to tandem axle to get 3 windows on the door side and a 17 1/2' camper.
Also describe the inside floor plan. Where is the bathroom, the kitchen, the table area and any beds etc. When we talk right side of the camper, that is the door side(passenger side on a car). And the left side of the camper is the non door side (driver side on a car).
Also, the brochure weights called axle weight is that of and empty camper. Nothing in it. The GVWR listing is the max it can hold and what you should be using to line up a tow vehicle.
Hope this helps. The 2 pics you showed look good for the age of the camper.
John

I had a little confusion, also, when I had our T1350. Ours had added AC and awning. So rather than trusting things I read, I simply took our to a local weigh station. Weighed truck and trailer, then disconnected truck weighed truck and do the math. At the time I made sure the trailer was empty of all our personal camping "stuff" (as close to dry weight as possible). There was no fee but I gave the girl at the counter enough money to buy coffee all around.
