carport feet to anchor dometic awning to deck

Does anyone know if the carport feet that are sold specifically for carefree/fiesta awnings will fit the Sunline dometic awning arms? We own a 2007 2363 Sunline (GREAT camper).

the carport feet are already on your awning. Just unhook the awning arms from the side of your coach.

clarification; carport feet to install ON the deck

Hi Mike and Roz,
What we want to do is get another set of carport feet to install on the deck so the awning arms and be moved from the camper to the deck and then put back on the camper when not in use.

Are you going to move the camper at all? If so, I think getting your TT back in the exact same spot to line up with the permanently mounted feet on the deck will be really tough. If you're looking to mount the feet without moving the camper, which is what you seem to be looking to do, consider this...

rather than looking for some toe stubbers that will always remain on your decking, try an anchored nut that flush mounts to the decking. You can find them to fit concrete or wood and also in the appropriate width of bolt for the guide holes on the feet and the depth of the nut into decking.

You'll be able to use the feet you currently have and return them to the camper side when you'd like to roll up. I'm pretty sure they even make these where the bolt returns to the anchor, flushed, so that your nut doesn't fill up with debris when not in use.

A few things you'll want to consider if you're going to go this directions...

Get brass or stainless hardware so it holds up to the weather for years to come.

Be careful and do your measuring and calculations twice and drilling once as you're not going to want extra 'error holes', especially in concrete.

Just some food for thought to avoid the search for new feet.

Take care,
Jason

Use the appropriate method to set your anchors, you don't want the threads to get compromised on installation.

Hi Jason,
Thank you for your suggestion. Anchor bolts are one way to accomplish this and did indeed also consider the same but I didn't want the bolts sticking up from the deck due to the possibility of tripping over and getting hurt. The carport feet clip anchored to the (wood) decking is better in the fact that all you do is run the awning into the clip without needing a nut to hold it down. I will attempt to use the carport feet anchors made for the carefree/fiesta awning arms and will re-post (with pictures) if we are successful or not.

Of note, due to the rising price of gas, we are parked in a seasonal site so although we can easily pull out for travel, I believe we will stay put at least for this season.
