Cable /antenna hookup
Okay, here's one for all of you techno nerds to solve for me.
While on vacation earlier this month, I stayed at a resort that offered free cable hookup. I ran my coax from the connector at the pole to the connection on the side of the trailer. Now inside, I have coax running from the wall outlet into the DVD/VCR and coax from that into the TV.
The problem I was having was the antenna signal was fighting with the cable signal. I had set the TV on input from cable. The only way I could improve the cable signal was to unplug the coax from the DVD/VCR to the TV and run the signal through the RCA cables that run from the DVD/VCR to the TV on an Audio 1 level, designed as an input for watching tapes and discs, but I still had some interference on certain channels.
Did I route something wrong or do I need to add something to the system? I pulled out the big ole white bible that came with the rig and under the Wineguard Q&A section it listed that they offer a" product RV-7012/7032/7042 that is specifically designed for an external TV signal source." No further description or telling me what it is or does.
I know someone out there has the answer. Hit me with it, (in plain English, please)!!!!
Thanx,
Bobo
