Anyone know where to find pictures of older Sunline Saturns?

Hello,
A year ago we purchased our trailer and the title listed it as a Sunlite Suncast 1989.
We did research realize there seems to be no such thing.
However, we did find this forum and when I downloaded the brochures, the floor plan of our camper matches the T1700 model.
We also discovered the word Saturn embedded on the rock cover.
We are now 98% sure we have a Sunline Saturn, just not sure what year.
Also we are not 100% sure because any pictures we have seen of older Sunlines, the window & door placement are completely different than ours.
Any thoughts on where I might find pictures I can compare ours with?
Thanks

You should be able to tell from the floor plans in the brochures as they show the window placements.

Can you post a picture of each side of the outside of the camper? From looking at all 4 outside walls we have been able to back into year and floor plan before. Sunline also did so custom changes when customers requested a special ordered camper. If you have one of them, it could explain some differences from the brochures. But first we have to sort out, is it a Sunline?

The Saturn logo can go a long way to helping confirm a lot of this.

Ideally the camper is not painted over the original Sunline colors/graphics as the graphics and colors help hone in on the year.

Is your camper titled? If so, that can help too with the VIN number and if a brand was mentioned on the title.

Hope this helps

John

Thank you both for your help.
The title lists the make as a Suncast and the model as a Sunlite.
the VIN is 1LC2S1G21KD171534
I will take pictures and post them tomorrow.
We did find another 'Saturn' on the right hand side of the camper when we were painting today. And we from everything we can tell the original colors are was tan.

Hi RHS,

The VIN number you posted is for a 1989 Sunline travel trailer camper and has valid characters in all 17 positions. I'm not the guru on the VIN's, our member Sunline Fan is the "the man" on them. From what I know, the VIN does not decode within the model number.

Sunlite, is a different brand of camper then Sunline. It has been confused before with Sunline as the names are so close. I can see that being a mixup on a title.

The Suncast, I'm not sure about. I have not heard of them associated with a Sunline.

Your pics you where going to post can maybe shed some more light on this. Sunline built their camper with differences in design and construction from other brands, so we can use them to help identify them.

And yes, the Saturn is a model series in the Sunline family of campers for 1989 models.

Hope this helps

John

Well I feel like I am getting closer to figure out exactly what we have.
I am uploading pictures. When we bought it , it had been painted all white. We decorated it up a little, so I'm not sure if these pictures will help. I am not sure if I did this right so let me know if you don't see the pictures.
Thank youCamper 1.jpg

Hi RHS,

We can see your pictures. And seeing your 4 pictures, I agree the camper is the T-1700 Saturn. The windows, entry door and cargo doors do match the 89 brochure. The VIN shows this is a 1989 camper. They offered an option A and B which was a dinette change, a bench seat on the A and a swivel chair on the B next to the entry door. I cannot tell from the outside which you have.

You mentioned this,
Quote:

Also we are not 100% sure because any pictures we have seen of older Sunlines, the window & door placement are completely different than ours.
The VIN confirms the year. 1989

I am not sure what you are referring to about seeing older Sunlines that are completely different than yours. Have you seen other 89 T1700's? Or just other older Sunlines? Different models have different floor plans and the doors and windows all change. Explain more so we understand better. The camper seems to match the T1700 brochure very well.

I can see a prior owner has changed the DOT lights. (stop lights, clearance lights, brake lights etc.) They are not original.

Also modified is maybe the shore line power cord door. That does not look correct for a 1989 camper, it looks much newer and may have been upgraded. The water heater outdoor grill looks like it may have been replaced with a new heater. And the fresh water fill port door looks to be upgraded.

Hope this helps. You have it looking good. God have fun!

John

As the previous owner of a 1996 T-1700 I agree.

Awesome! FYI, that whole brochure is available to download as a PDF in the files tab on this site, up at the top.

Welcome Raf! FYI, you have a T-22B Saturn. Is the brochure you mention the same one that's in the files section of this site?

Here's what an original '89 T-1700 Saturn would have looked like (minus the state map on the door). Also, the door stripe is starting to peel, it would have originally been a straight stripe like the rest on the trailer.
