Red face 1989 Saturn T-1700

Hello Folks,
Well used our little trailer twice last year, once at a KOA where we had everything and once at a NY state campground where we were self sufficient for a week and by golly, she worked real well. Propane refrig made ice all week, we had power to watch movies at night and all the plumbing was great.
The only problem we had was the door began to give us a problem closing and on the way home we had to rope it closed. It seems that the door internal frame and the wood around the door, especially the floor side beam had rotted and was falling away.
I must replace all the wood around the door, rebuild the door and replace the floor beam before she can go any where.
It would be great to have a framing detail so that I know what size of the beams and framing I need to get. If there is a schematic or framing guide that appears somewhere.
All of you have been so helpful, especially a couple of men and I thank them very much, my marker lites are a joy. Thank you.

Hi Emmett,

You mentioned a "framing detail" to repair your door. I have not heard of one to know if they exist. However many members have rebuilt them. Most have wood working tools that can rip and cut as needed boards to recreate the sizes they took out.

To help show this, this post has a lot of good pic's by member Handijohn1. This may help you get an idea of what this involves.

Hope this helps

John

Thanks you john B for your reply, this has been a very helpful group since I started with my camper. Big shout out and thanks also to Mainah who had been a great help as John B when last I needed help with the running lights.
