Hi Chadvone,

Looks like you have a good restoration project on going. We can see you are "into it"!

Good luck and any help/questions you need, post away.

This is not a bad spot, the Travel Trailer forum helps group things common to Travel Trailers. Your rebuild fits here as it is a Travel Trailer.

It also would fit in the "Repairs and Maintenance" forum as this is for sure a repair...

The moderators will move a thread sometimes if it is grossly in the wrong place, first so you get more responses, the other so that all topics of similar natures are in the same location.

On this topic of yours, they have been done in both places. Your good.

Thanks

John

I'm a newbie - this is my first post. I just acquired a 1979 15sc this past Monday so I'm very anxious to see how your project goes and gather tips along the way. I'll be right behind you. Not sure what I have gotten myself into!

Hi Westgoin,

Welcome to Sunline Owners Club and congrats on your new camper.

Sounds like too maybe have some water damage?

If so, create a new post for your repair when you get to that stage. We seem to have a few posts going on all at the same time right now on this topic. The Repairs and Maintenance section has some of these restoration projects on going now.

Also see this thread in the FAQ forum, http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f1...nks-11910.html
Zoom down to the Restoring a Sunline section. Which reminds me, I need to update that list as we have had several more water damage repairs since.

Good luck and let us know if you need help

John

Painted window trim grey. Could not figure out how to remove the screens. There is tabs that seam to hold them in. but they do nothing. Getting stove top ready for paint.
My better half hard at it.

Those Hehr twist tabs do confuse many, even myself at first. They are for holding in optional storm windows. I believe they fit in right over the screen. I don't know of many trailers that had them, you might have had to order them directly through Hehr. I guess some people who have Sunlines on the shore will use them, or some will use them for late season camping.

Ahhh, thanks for the info. I was dumbfounded.

I like the idea of being able to add some insulation to the windows.

I will have to think about this more.

I don't think they really added much insulation, it was probably more to prevent drafts. I don't think I've seen any, but I would imagine it was nothing more than a piece of glass with a metal frame.

It looks like you took the upper camper off the frame? Is that what we are seeing by a frame with no camper on it? That frame looks different then what I thought Sunline made back then. Or is this just another trailer frame and you are using it for holding the camper items to paint?.

Your doing great by the way. Thanks for sharing.
