Last Fiver owner becoming an SOB

I believe we are pretty much the last family on this forum who still owns one of the 2003 model year fifth wheels made by Sunline. With great sadness we arranged to trade our F311 fifth wheel in on a new Grand Design 5th wheel. It has been a great unit over the years and we had a lot of great memories with it. Had Sunline still been in business we would have purchased another Sunline 5th wheel in a heart beat.

With this said we will be join the other S.O.B's on this forum. We will be getting our new unit in either late April or early May and will bringing it to the Buttonwood rally in June. We look forward to seeing everyone there with our new rig.

Hi Bill,

Congrats on your new camper! Remember we like pics!!!!

What brand and model within the Grand Design family did you get? The Reflection or the Solitude?

I have not been in a Grand Design yet, if you listen to the three founders, they talk the right talk. Since you are "into" your campers.... it will be good to hear your report.

Good luck with your new camper. New campers are always good times.

John

Yes, I agree that Grand Design founders are definitely saying the right things. We have a couple of friends that own Grand Design reflection units and they are quite please with them and any issues they had were fixed right away with no questions asked. In addition one of our friends had done the factory tour and from what they told me I quite impressed. If sounded very similar ideas and quality control to what I saw and heard when we did the Sunline factory tour back before they closed.

The unit we purchased was the Solitude 384GK model. I haven't download pictures from my phone to my computer yet so I can't post any yet, however here is a link with photos of the unit.

The unit we purchased came with dual pane windows which is a big plus for us for cold weather camping.

Here is a link to a youtube video of the the same model and year that we purchased.

In addition to the above post, we did not take the option for the dishwasher. The kitchen table we ordered is the free standing one without the center pedestal shown in the video. The table we ordered attaches to the outside wall of the slide only and is completely clear underneath with no obstructions.

Congrats on the new camper! I gotta say we just traded our Sunline in for a Grand Design as well! It was the best quality we could find compared to Sunline. We are also a little sad, but excited at the same time.

Hi Bill,
Awesome upgrade! Even made the cover of March Trailer Life! Looks like you'll have every opportunity to enjoy all the comforts of home on the road.

Sorry we won't see you and the rest of the gang at WNY again this year. Just not a good time of year for us. We have a couple grandkids in AB in school and pre-school so will be going west again in Aug./Sep. time frame which suits them.

Have a great summer getting to know the new rig close to home and any extended trips that may be in the works.
