I Spotted One

I was headed south early Friday afternoon on I-81 over the South Bridge and what did I see going north, a Sunline Fiver. I did a double take and did see that it was a single slide model, about 28 feet. Don't recall what the TV was. I was just excited to see another one.
Besides mine this is only the second one I've come across. We met a nice couple at our favorite campground over the summer that had one, the 34 footer with rear living and center kitchen. We chatted for several hours, gave tours, etc... They said mine was the only other one they had ever seen. They purchased theirs new in 2003 from Stoltzfus who had it on loan from Sunline. The fivers were so costly (around $55k) that the dealerships were afraid to stock them. Most of the Sunline fivers sold were actually sold by Sunline, just through a dealership. I gave them the club information and invited them to the M&G, so we'll wait and see. I do have their e-mail addy, so I should send them a message.

That may have been us

You may have indeed seen us on the road. We spent Halloween at Hershey Park staying in High Meadows. Ours is a F-281SR, about 30 foot in length. Yup, the Sunline fivers were priced pretty high, ours stickered at 43,000, we paid close to half of that from Recreation World RV in Annapolis. It was a leftover, they really did not deal much in fivers, mostly smaller travel trailer or MH's. One thing about Sunline's fivers, they are (were) built stout. Our 30 footer weighs more(12k) than many 34-36 footers, and I like the fact that it came with 7,000lbs axles and 16 inch Load Range "E" tires instead of 5,000lb axles and 60psi cheap 15 inchers.

Your right. There isn't anything light or cheap about them......which is exactly why I bought it. Overkill is great.

Just browsing the various threads and wanted to see what you 5ver owners were talking about. We dont have one, but have always kept an eye out for them.

We have only seen one in all of our travels and I think it was down near FLA.

Passed it going the other direction and Cindy and I about screamed at the top of our lungs at one another! Neither of us could believe we had seen one. It looked brand new and boy was she pretty!
