I don't know all the sizes Sunline offered a fifth wheel in, but 18' sounds short to be a fifth wheel. I never heard of a trailer you could tow with a hitch or gooseneck. You need to give more details, like model #, year, maybe pictures.
There are to many model numbers to give an answer on tongue weight. Also would be useful to know what the tow vehicle is also.

Sunline built 18footers in 5th wheel in the early to mid 80's at least.

Go to the Files section at the top and find the year, then download the brochure. You'll find most all of the info you need for weights etc. there.

I think hitch vs gooseneck refers to the BED setup. These are NOT setup for bumper hitch. Either a 5th wheel plate or a Gooseneck ball mounted in the pickup bed. Both of these are permanent setups, although the gooseneck ball can be reversed to be flush in the bed, the 5th wheel hitch can be removable if bought that way. (more complexity, way more expensive). Most of the 5th wheel 18ft'ers I've read about have a hitch weight of about 550#. and an empty weight of 3500# or so.

I have the 23 foot model. It has double axles and the pin weight is 800#. What Torshdoc423 says is true. I have two rails that are bolted to the frame through the bed. A mounting plate with a ball is pinned to the rails and the goosneck hitch rides on the ball. The model number of mine is F2353. I bielive the model you are referring to is a single axle.
