towing report

We towed QUEtSE 300 miles yesterday in the wind on the PA Turnpike and down I81 with our Chevy TrailBlazer. We have no WD hitch or sway control. She towed like a dream. Didn't sway even when being passed by a truck going down hill on I81. There was ALOT of traffic. Maybe not as many truckers as usual, but plenty to give a true test of towing. They must know about Easter traffic and avoid it We kept the speed around 60. We had a head wind traveling west on the turnpike and only got 10 mpg, which is half what we get without towing. It did around 13 on the second tank though once we started heading south and the wind wasn't as much of a factor. Towing the popup we used to get 16, so 13 is fine with us. I'd gladly lose 3 mpg for the cozy comfort of the QUE! We woke up to a dusting of snow on the ground and were warm as toast inside. Those insulated window shades are great.

Good to hear.

Are you planning on sway control just as a safety measure?

DH doesn't want to get a sway control...since it never swayed in over 600 miles of heavy traffic and in the mountains.

No offense, but that is not a wise choice. Even the most basic $60 control, could save you from an incident.

Great report Quetse! These light trailers tow like a dream, don't they?

I'll have to post a thread and a picture, we replaced the Jeep for towing with an FJ Cruiser. Talk about QueT now! The Jeep pulled the Que just fine but with the Toyota, you almost don't know anything is back there.
