anyone want extra storage?

So...we were wondering what's under the panel (under the sink) in the bathroom and decided to removed it to see. The answer is NOTHING but a couple of pex tubes running along the floor and the one side of the cabinet. That whole area is available for storage! I couldn't believe Sunline wasted that space. We're going to do a mod, so we can store towels under there. We decided against a door since it would be awkward to open. We're going to cut a hole in the panel, line the edges with black edging like the book shelf has, and screw it back in place. We should be able to keep our 2 beach towels, day packs, fanny packs, and a couple extra bath towels in there! Very exciting

I, too am surprised at the "loss" of space there! Maybe there was some sort of fancy option that would go there?

We are thinking of bottom hinge (like on the trash door), but think the door would be too thin to handle it, so your "hole" solution might be the way to go.

Thanks for the heads up! Now you have me thinking were else is there empty space......

One other spot I noticed empty space is that the short drawers don't need to be short. They could have been longer...nothing back there that I can see. I don't get it. The other thing I wonder about is the fact that there's no cabinet next to the door on the SE. The upper kitchen cabinets could have been extended and still had room to sit a TV on the TV shelf. My thought on that one is that Sunline was trying to keep the GVW under 3000# and another cabinet would have put them over.

...or keep those of us who are accident prone (read clumsy) from hittig our heads! I think maybe it is not there so that it feels more 'airy' inside?

We removed something else this week It drove me crazy that we couldn't get into the space in the corner of the upper kitchen cabinets. So...we took out the little 6 x 9" panel that's to the right of the big cabinet door. It was just stapled on. What a difference!! Now we can use that back corner area. It's perfect for paper towels and napkins. I need to find a basket or box to fit in the hole we created, so that it's a matter of lifting only one thing out to access the corner. I'm not sure I like the look of it open like that, so we saved the piece we removed. But I sure like the access.
