What do you do with your lawn chairs?
What do you do with your lawn chairs? Anyone have any clever ideas? ours are always stuffed in the under bed storage compartment and take up SO much space. Then they end up with a bunch of stuff on top of them, which can't be good for them. To top it off I got this REALLY comfy outdoor rocker at the RV show that is super awkward to store. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Last few days I've been rearranging/taking out what's not needed, thruout the camper.
I ended up taking the lawn chairs out from under the bed, because as you said they take up too much room and are too clumbsy to get to or out.
I put mine in the back out the pickup. Maybe someone will come up with a better idea. Hope so.

Shelf
We tow with a Hond CRV. We have built a shelf in the back of our CRV that holds three folding outdoor chairs while still providing plenty of storage of space under the shelf.

We use this product to hang them off the back ladder on the back of the camper
http://store.generalrv.com/Items/130...20Chair%20Rack
Throw a Bungee cord around the whole set-up and we're good to go. Also keeps them out of the way of having to move them when we're getting into and out of various compartments.
The back of the camper must have a certain kind of backdraft because we never have to clean them from road grime?

We use the Coleman brand folding director chairs. They are stored in the crossthrough compartment, two high. Enough room left beside them to place the tabletop gas hibachi and a couple of 2 pounders of gas.
To sort of start another topic debate,
We have had these chairs for seven years now and they are just starting to fabric wear near the frames. Considering that Amy and I are quite large, they have held up very well. Even though we paid $35. @ for them, they have more than paid for themselves by now rather than buying a cheapy style at a Wally World or a Kfart and replacing them every year. We have seen too many of the fold up into a bag style collapse under a normal size person. If I sat in one of those, it would become a suppository. We got them when we purchased our Coleman popup from a local dealer. I believe that Camping World now carries them. Also, being very lightweight, it helps with the heavy tongue weight of the 2499.
Bobo
PS; I looked at the CW site. The chair there is not the style that we have. It must have stabilizing legs in each corner to prevent tipping over. I can attest to that, I slouch and lean back alot. I did find the style that we have at the Bass Pro Shops website. " Coleman Captains Folding Chair". $39.99 each.

The 2 recliners and the 2 folding chairs go in the truck bed under the Tonno cover. It works, they stay dry and clean, however I do wish I had a better place as I’m always digging for the recliners. They are on the bottom of the pile. The 2 folding chairs are on top of the pile.
Hopefully someone will have a more elegant solution for the PU truck towers. Hutch has his on his bed rail bike rack he made. However my Tono does not expose the bed rail like his does so I can’t use that option.
Pam, did you ever get a bed cover for “The Beast”

we have the cover for the Beast but we don't travel with it on due to the bicycles and kayak being in/over the truck bed. I also hope someone has a more elegant solution. We don't have the bag chairs which I found easier to store but impossibly uncomfortable to sit in. So our chairs are the bulky fold flat kind - or not so flat in the case of the rocker.

Our solution is simple. We just put the recliners on the bed. They ride there just fine with no tie downs. If we're staying in a truck stop or Wal Mart, they just go in the truck bed for the night.

Since moving over to the Sunline, our truck's bed looks woefully empty. Many of the things we carried there for the popup are no longer applicable with the 2499. Even our extended cab area is relatively empty now... most of the stuff we carried there fits in the coach!
For now, we haul our two bag chairs in the front compartment, placed in front of the sliding tray. They fit there just fine. We carry Cindy's zero gravity lounge on the floor in the living area of the coach... it will NOT fit in the outside storage.
I've been thinking about doing SOMETHING with the truck bed that would allow organized storage of camping stuff we'd carry & still protect it from the weather, without resorting to a full bed cover. I have a cross-over toolbox and I suspect it might be hard to find a cover to fit the shortbed WITH the toolbox.
Sounds like it's MOD TIME...

Dido for us on the storage on top of the bed. We did invest in the carry bags (CW) to trap some of the dirt from the legs. Not crazy about the idea, interested in other solutions.

I'm not sure there IS a universal solution. For the last 2 TV's, we've carried the chairs in the truck bed under the tonneau cover.
For the past year and a half, we've been making do with some larger bag chairs.... but Tweety's right....they just aren't comfortable.
This year, we'll just have to reorganize the truck bed to again accommodate some comfortable folding chairs under the tonneau.

I store the rocker, and director style folding chair at the foot of the bed on the door side of the trailer, out of the way, was an empty space looking to be used and easy access. BUT, I have twin beds so this don't help you folks any :P

Hey all,
You are reinforcing my decision to always use conversion vans for our TV's...
1.everything always fits
2.plenty of room for passengers
3.plenty of room for Mittzi, our cat and her stuff!
4.can use as extra sleeping space for unexpected guests
Our Chevy Express is the best! getting 10-11 mpg on our trip down here to Florida towing our 5840 lb. (loaded) Sunny and all our STUFF! Merry Christmas to all of you! Jan

We store two bag chairs in the under the bed storage and then we always carry two FORD "bag" chairs, which fit under the rear seat of the F250, this way we always have chairs with us and for extra persons if needed!

We switched from the bag chairs to the bigger folding chairs. We carry them on the bed.

Our folding chairs (3) go in the storage compartment under the front (pin box area) of the coach. The bag chairs (4) go in the basement uner our bedroom. That is one of the reasons we went with the fiver, more storage than you could ever use. I got tired of moving stuff from the house to the truck every time we went camping.

We have those folding chairs that go in bags. Two don't take up much space. They're just inside the door under the bench seat. Easy to pull out when needed.

Why do you need extra space in the bed for Carp? Do you keep an aquarium in there or something...LMAO

Chair Storage
We use the folding chairs that fit in a bag, and when traveling, lay them on the floor in the area between the swivel chair and the front wall. In that same area is where I store the folding table and the anti-gravity chair while traveling. I use towels to protect the wall from scratching.
Those items are the first things out when setting up and about the last things stored when preparing to leave. Plus, they are out of the way when packing and unpacking at home.
