Upgraded Suspension for T2499

I have done many mods such as the Fantastic fan and vent covers, but I believe the biggest improvement has been the suspension mods. The tow height was a problem that had been solved with an extra long drop bar, But I did not like this because of the back draging and clearence of the weight distribution bars to road. decided to do an axle flip that added 4.5 inches to the height, and while the axle was off the trailer added the Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizer, and Monroe Gas trailer shocks.

My trailer did not tow bad before the mods, But I gained the height and it tows great and thing do not move around in the trailer like before. An other plus is that I now have brass bushings with grease fittings rather than the plastic bushings with no grease fitting supplied with my trailer.

Crazy as it sounds, I dont think I've ever noticed if the stock axles have shocks on them? DO they just have leaf springs or did you upgrade and install shocks also?

If so, how did you mount brackets for the shocks to mount to?

Sounds like a great idea.

Shocks

Monroe has a kit to add the shocks, the plate that secures the U-bolts to the axle has the bottom mount built in and you drill a hole in the frame for a top mount that comes with the kit.

Thanks, Now I've jst found a new modification I have to have done to our 2499.

As soon as we can find a Camping World, or any other dealer that'll install stuff like this, I'm having this modification done!!

By the way, I like your Screen Name and was joking with my wife that I now have a fan
