Sunny 14 gets a new water heater switch

When we went to the dealer to look at the future "Sunny 14" we were immediately presented with a switch, under the bottom bunk. It was a regular light switch and had words scribbled on the cover plate.

It wasn't in the best of places for a switch and easily bumped by the bottom bunk's occupant. You also couldn't tell, if it had been accidentally turned on. With the placement of this water heater, I wouldn't want to have to replace an accidentally burned out element!

A trip to Lowes (Another Lowes "fix" for Kitty) got us a switch, that had a light under it. I also got a weatherproof cover for it.

The switch worked great and the cover diffused the light, making it easy to see. Problem was, that Kitty didn't like it. Our trip to Home Depot netted us a lighted rocker switch. That got put on yesterday.. NOW Kitty likes it and is happy with it!

The best part about the cover, is that it worked for both switches!

Here's a pic, with the cover closed...

Well if Kitty doesn't like it... it won't last long...

I must admit the new rocker one does accent the fine coach better. I can't belive Sunline actually put it in that location. Maybe a prior owner mod. I do not think that is the original switch.

H’mm I also see you have the American Enterprizes CX6000 converter. If and when the cement mixer fans start going off at around 03:00AM, let me know…. If you tap (rap) the cover some times it will shut up that is until you go to lay back down. And then there is the time you tap it and it gets louder…..

That's a mod I've been wanting to do. I have to lift the mattress of the bottom bunk to get to the switch for the water heater.

There is no way Sunline would have butchered the wiring like this. This was done, by someone that really had no clue what they were doing.

Sunline would have at least gotten the switch straight!
