Squeaky faucets

Does anyone know if anything can be done to silence the squeaks in the plastic faucet valves on the sinks? They seem particularly loud when all is quiet at night.
Thanks,
Rich

you can take the valve stems out and put a little silicon grease on the rubber
"o " rings.. worked for mine.

Yep silicon grease. 5 minute fix. Did ours a few years ago and no problems since. Got it at Lowes. Pool supply places should also have it. Used for seals on pool pumps. Or I can bring it with me to Buttonwood

Thanks guys, I have silicone grease, but I removed the hex nuts under the faucet handles and I still don't see any seals. How much more has to be disassembled?

after removing the handles you'll need to loosen and screw out the arm or stem that attaches to each handle scocket. when you get them out each one should have the rubber "o" ring or rings on them. just wipe a little grease on each and screw them back in the socket then reinstall the handles. there are various models, but all work about the same.
Make sure the water is turned off before you start.. Good luck, Dan

OK, easy once I realized the stems are just pressed into the socket. I removed the threaded nuts under the handles, wiggled and pulled up on the stems and out they came. Applied a thin coat of silicone grease to the "O" ring, reassembled and they're smooth and quiet now! Thanks for the help.

Now, if I can just figure out how to quiet that noisy pump!
Rich
