Since I had the water heater out, I decided to change how I hooked the water lines to it when it went back in. I bought some stainless steel braided faucet supply lines and a couple of 1/2" PEX to 1/2" NPT adapters for the job.
The adapters were crimped to the PEX and then connected to the water heater bypass kit with the braided faucet lines.

When I put the water heater in, I didn't want the 120V wire nuts hanging in mid air. I just happened to have a spare box and put the connections in it..
The box was originally used for something else, in another Sunline..
Any repair job/modification always seems to be cause to break out
ALL the tools!
