screen door mod
We may have the most modded screen door on a Sunline - push bar, doggie screen protector, and now this.
Somehow a ladder found it's way through the one side of our screen door mechanism After a trip to Stoltzfus, and finding out it is a special order item, I went on camping world to order the clear set, and found out that with shipping it was going to be $27, which seemed rediculous. Also we probably wouldn't have received it from either place before our next outing. So, we temporarily got out the duct tape. The ladder also found it's way through the screening, so while Steve was replacing that he had a brainstorm and thought maybe he could replace that broken panel with screen....and here it is ! Problem solved.

Older Sunlines had screen in that area to the left of the slide. It's easily replaceable like most screen doors.
I am contemplating doing the lexan thing for the lower panel, but have to locate the right hardware so that the panel can be easily removed without tools.

H'mm have to walk those roaming ladders.... I'll bet there is a campfire story around that one
If you "had" the solid white panel next to the sliding white panel, that is a fairly new change in the doors. Both of our 2004 Sunlines had screen there.
Here is the T310
Here is the T2499
Seems is must of came in 2005 or 2006 somewhere.

Steve
I have done the clips and can twist them with my fingers. Like this
And I have a new panel of actual Lexan to do the T310 that I will use these clips again. Those pic are on the T2499
However an option maybe for you is what I say on Trailblazer's camper at the M & G. It seems they actually mount the screen door 2 ways. The screen molding channel can be to the inside or the outside. And possibly where the diagonal braces go inside or out. It “might” be a left hand right hand door swing thing.
Anyway, on Trailblazers camper the screen retaining beading is on the inside. On my campers they are on the outside. On the side that has the screen retaining beading there is a small slot about 3/32 wide in the door frame. He cut his plastic sheet wide enough to fit in that slot using 3/32 thick sheet. He would then just flex the sheet in the middle, it would get narrower in width and “wamo” out it came. He did it to show me and took him all of I think 3 seconds…. See him for the exact details. Don’t know if that is an option for you or not but if it is, it is that fastest way I have seen yet to pop out the panel and put back in.
I already bought 1/8” Lexan sheet for mine so it will not fit in there
Hope this helps
John

The change came in 2005. I really hate it too, it may find screen in there in the future.
Uh oh, another mod. I really need to watch myself...

John,
My screen doors have the screen mounting beads on the outside, but the slot is on the inside of the doors. The upper and lower large panel areas have slots on the left and right side of the framing so that would work there, but the small panel next to the slider only has the slot on one side.
But the small panel is one that I would probably consider making permanent anyway with just the top and bottom panels removeable.
More food for thought and another line item on the "to do" list...
