Remote for your electric awning

I don't know how many of you have electric awnings, but I read an interesting post about a guy who hooked up a remote for his awning. In my case it would be helpful because when I go to clean it before rolling it up I'm forever going back and forth toggling the switch by the door. They also talk about using it for your jacks or other motorized things in your trailer. Sounds kinda lazy way of doing things but imagine your neighbors watching while you set up your trailer by pushing a few buttons on the remote. Here is the link.

Hi Richard,

Sunline went under by the time the power awnings where starting to get popular. I do not know if any where shipped from the factory with them as standard.

The power accessories can be nice and can help some folks who have a hard time getting to them.

On the awning, I myself have not yet made it to wanting a power awning. I like the flexibility of the extreme tilt feature on the manual system. I have seen the newer auto dump features as the power awning has progressed in development. They do flap in the breeze... however the material I'm sure is under more flapping strain the as the awing gets older and more brittle may need replacement sooner.

I'm at the point now ours is getting bad on the exposed sun top part. I did not buy this camper new, so the 2 1/2 years before me did not get the special TLC treatment with 303 UV protectent. I'll need to fix this this year.

Thanks for sharing the new remote gizmo.

John
