Rear Bumper 1979 21RB

Hello all. I am looking at doing the same thing with my 1979 Sunline 21RB as I did with my previous trailer, a 1964 Thunderbolt. I removed the old flimsy bumper and attached a Curt hitch receiver with 1" grade 8 bolts. I carried two bikes. The total wight of the bikes, steel hitch receiver bumper and rack was roughly 145lbs. I countered that weight by filling my 12gal water tank and traveling with it full, and putting my batteries up front. That created an almost a perfect equalization and worked well.

Anyway, this is just to let you know I understand the physical implications of putting weight on the back of my trailer, the need for weight distrobution/sway contril, etc..
My Sunline will only have one bike so the wight will likely be around 120ish.

My question is this, what kind of bumper has anyone else here used, if any of you have done this with a Sunline in my size, or at least the same sort of rear end?

Thank you in advance

I can't say I've ever heard anyone replace a Sunline bumper before. They are a pretty robust bumper compared to '60s trailer bumpers, but the mounting design is weak. Anyone who wants to haul anything of significant weight off the back has had a hitch or brackets welded directly to the frame to stick out behind the bumper.

And then there's JohnB's awesome storage box design, which you might be able to incorporate some parts of.
