painting a rock guard...

Have any of you ever painted,or had painted by someone else, your Sunny front rock guard? If so, what product was used, what prep was done, and what were the results? I would appreciate the pros and cons you experienced....Also,if you have before and after pics,it would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance for any input/advice offered! Janalee

Ty for the input...as usual, you are right there! I liked especially the link to Jon's..but I was hoping for a much easier solution such as masking off the metal edge rather than disassembling it! Mine cleans up very nicely but that fiberglas grabs any dirt particles in sight ...must be some way to seal these surfaces once they are clean..?

JimL3222 is an unknown quantity at this point
My local / very rural Deliverance-remake extra neighbors vandalized my trailer several years ago while it was parked on my hunting land. That included damaging the rock guard. The Sunline logo was unavailable. After the fiberglass was repaired they masked the trim, primed and painted it. It looks terrific to me.
