Oxygenics Shower Wand

As most of us know, the water pressure in an RV shower is not too great. Has anyone installed the Oxygenics Shower Wand? If so, please explain how you did it, with pictures (if possible).

We have an Oxygenics shower head. It is nicer than the one that came standard. As far as installing it, just unscrew the old hose and screw on the new one. Unscrew the old shower head holder, put a little plumbers putty on the back of the new bracket and screw it on. You have to order the holder separate as it doesn't come with the shower head. You can do the installation in 10 minutes.

I just ordered and received my oxyigenics shower head (the white model) from amazon.com for 33.00 with free shipping. It came with the holder. Since it's winter, it currently is residing in the shower in the house.

I purchased one months ago but have not installed it yet. Sounds like a pretty simple mod that I should take care of it. DW reminds me on every trip that I need to do it. Guess I will finally get a round tuit.

DEFINITELY worth all 600 or so seconds it takes to install. Huge difference in felt pressure and ease of human cleansing (Since we only really wash ourselves inside, we really have no other benchmark- anything nasty gets washed with the outside shower before it comes inside).

A great product, usually can be found at a good price.

Sounds like a very usefull MOD for the QUE.
I read the over 100 reviews. Sounds good to me. I just ordered the White one for $33. total
with shipping & no tax. From Buy It Now on EBAY. They also have the chrome plated plastic one for $45.with shipping & no tax.
I will use this one in the house. After trying it, then I will order one for the Que where it is really needed with the low water presure.

OK I know this post is old BUT I have a question....we have the model 130XLF25 I have not hooked it up yet so I'm not sure if "turns off"....there was some info about installing a connection to do so but I can't find it.

So question
#1 - can someone give me the link about the on/off connection

#2 - does anyone know if this model will shut off???? I can't find any info on it at all.

thank you....Leo was able to find a valve at Ace today that we installed.....I found the booklet on the Oxygenics and it say it has a shut off but all it did was leak water all over......

I told Leo what I remembered it looked like so thanks !!!!!

Yes we use a push shutoff like Mike linked in. And this time we mounted it on top of the faucet verses at the wand. Easier to push.

HOWEVER heads up!!! For some reason our push vlave is not 100% shut off. It still drizzles a little and for reasons not yet known it drizzles cold. The old shower head did too.

Well when you turn on the Oxy, make sure it is off the holder and pointing down or you are going to get a cold blast until the water mix makes it's way thru the hose.

I'm still searching for a 100% shut off valve to hopefully solve this cold blast problem.

Mike, does yours totally shut off?

No ours doesn't shut off 100%. Most shower valves are made to allow a trickle of water. I think it's so you don't get a blast of hot water when you turn the water back on. But in most rv's it seems to be the opposite. Here is an explanation that I read of why this happens, and it kinda makes sense.

When the valve or shower head allows a trickle of water to flow, the hot water is slightly restricted as it has to go through the water heater. The cold water has no restriction, so it over powers the flow of hot water. When you turn the valve back on, both hot and cold return to the preset flow.

Some people say they get hot water and some say they get cold water, could be the way the plumbing system is laid out in different rv's.

Ours did not shut off completely either and neither will the majority of shower shut off valves. My understanding is generally it has to do with local plumbing coded and I have been give the two explanations for this. First it has to do with the hot water rising to the top in the shower head and people getting and extremely hot blast of hot water. Perhaps someone here can give a better explainable of this effect. Second it has to do with both systems in both your house and in condominiums where the cold water will continue to mix with hot water should the valve be in the off position and the taps left on allowing the hot and cold water systems to mix. As a result of this mixing you end up with luke warm in the hot water tanks. Again this is from reading I have done and perhaps someone can give a better explanation as to how and why this happens.

Now with the above said, I installed the following 100% shower shutoff valve in my trailer. It works great and does shut of the water 100%. Now it will not screw directly onto the shower taps in our trailers. I found I had to buy one of the moen shutoff unit that will trickle water and install that on the tap first then mount this unit and finally the shower hose. I will try and get some pictures to post later this week. What I did was set the moen shutoff valve in the open position and then removed the shutoff button so no one could accidentally turn it off. Hope this helps.

This looks like the shut off Leo just got - I've placed it on the top by the shower heads....I have to order the push button type and mount that down by the faucet......I think that will be much easier to handle.

I'll tell you what some of these "simple" mods....aren't so simple!

Now onto another problem....has anyone ever had the water body valve On their Sealand toilet leak???? We encountered that problem last night. I ordered a replacement valve (after Leo spent an hour trying to get it to stop leaking), from PPL (really nice people) and had it shipped next day - so we should have it by Wednesday - we'll do the install and hopefully the leak will stop. I downloaded the manual for Sealand Toilet Model 210 and there is a "winterization" process that tells you to "bleed" the valve for the winter....something that I was not aware of.....just passing on the info. Like someone said on this forum....we all learn from each other's experience or mistakes!

Would the valve fit if you loosened the shower faucet from the wall, screw the valve on, then put the faucet back on the wall?

This is what I had to do to install my valve. I completely removed the taps from the wall and installed the shutoff valve.

Hopefully you got the exact same one as I linked to as there are very similar ones that are made of plastic but they all trickle the water. The one I posted too was extremely hard to find as most places will not sell them due to building codes. I used mine on the weekend for the very first time and it worked exactly as advertised.

probably would but I don't think Leo wants to get into that...beside when I put the valve on I can't get it to be straight to the front.....going camping this weekend with a plumber - I'll see if I can get him to do that!!!!
