Mounting a flat screen television

I have a 07 T2753. I'd like to mount a flat screen TV between the door to the bathroom and the cupboard designed for a TV. Can someone please help me with directions?

I just completed a television addition/mod so I'll give eer a try!

Thats a tough one....the walls in these things are just 1/8" paneling glued to 1" x 2" studs for most of the interior walls. I am not familar with your floorplan but I went to the files/floorplan on this site to see where you were talking about. You really want to be carefull as your shower is on the opposite side of the wall.

A few decisions/comments...

1) What size television you can fit and want, and how much does it weigh. I recommend purchasing the television first so you have it on hand to take measurements, be sure it fits the area, be able to hold up for viewing angle, and for inspiration!

2) How you are going to get power and cable conections to it. Good luck trying to feed through the interior of the walls without doing alot of work. Probabely easyist (but unsightly) to run the power and cable along the wall from the factory location to your new location.

3) Lastly and most importantly how you are going to mount it? You can get a store bought mount and screw/bolt to a stud, assuming there is one in that area of the wall. You need to be absolutly sure there are no power cables or water pipes behind the wall where you are about to place the mount. I have seen a few other posts here from folks and what they do is get a mount that the television can be removed from easily for transit, that way you dont have to worry about stressing the walls from a television hanging off them. Or damanging your LCD!

Good luck and be sure to post pics....

Both2Retired, I have a T2753 as well and I have recently been looking at adding an LCD tv on a wall mount in the same spot as you are. Now I am not sure whether or not you are planning on mounting it on the inside or outside of the cabinet. I am planning on adding mine on the inside of the cabinet. Now no matter what side you mount the TV on you are going to need to add a additional support to the cabinet side as it is on 5/8 of inch thick. I recently had the opportunity to see how Escape_IT added an LCD TV Mount on a cabinet wall on his T2363. My plan is to add a 3/4 inch X4 inch piece of maple to the inside of the cabinet. I plan to both screw and glue onto the side of the cabinet and then mount the LCD TV on the maple board and then screw into both the new hardwood mount and into the 5/8 inch cabinet side wall. For travel mode I plan to swing the TV back into the TV cabinet and then support it on either a pillow or on a wood platform. I am hoping to do this mode in the next couple of weeks. Once done I will post some pictures. I\

i finally got around today to doing this mod and mounting my LCD TV on a double swing arm mount. Now I still have some last minute trimming to do to finish up the mod but here is the link to the photos of my LCD Double Swing Arm TV Mount

I also still have to some cable management to clean up the rats nest of cables behind the TV, but that will be a project for another day.

We wanted our TV closer to the living room, so chose to put the swing arm in this location. It works really well, and there were already studs in the wall.

Notice the added door to the old TV cabinet - created some nice storage.

Paneling in that area has little or no support behind it. I used a swing arm so the 19" flat screen is in front of the TV Cabinet with a space below for the satellite receiver to receive a signal from the remote. Check down on this page for my post in November of 2008 (listed as rmstack)

I am very satisfied with it.

TV Mount

Since our T2299 is on the small side we fastened the swing arm mount on the kitchen cabinet nearest the bed so that we could 'couch potatoe' watch movies, etc. The TV is a Vizio 19" weighing under 12 pounds. I glued up two pieces of furniture grade plywood to place on the inside of the cabinet to distribute and handle any stress. Purchased the mount online from Wally World for $27 + shipping and the Vizio from Dell. We are pleased with the whole set-up. While not a solution to the original post I thought that those with a similar situation might find this useful and quickly found when doing a search.

How solid is the wallyworld mount ?

Some mounts in that price range are somewhat flimsy. I've read some reviews on other mounts in that price range, and some comments were made about there being more "play" at the swivel points than the person would like. That's why I'm asking the question. Let me be clear this was a different mount but it was in the same price range as your.

Do you travel with the TV mounted to the mount.

Thanks

TV Mount

Sunline1,

IMO, it is very solid. The articulating arms can be tightened via the tightening knobs...as tight as you want to make them. The only play in the unit comes from the slide on bracket & that is not much. This unit is rated to hold 60 pounds. I do not travel with the TV mounted. This is not an inconvenience to me as the TV resides in my office when we are home. It is an easy pack up to go camping. Even if it were resident in the camper I would not leave it up .... doesn't make good sense to me with some of the roads that we travel. I researched TV mounts until the cows came home. I looked at many much more expensive units and none were any better suited for the task at hand. According to Wally World this unit was a "Special Buy".... was not available locally. Here is a link to the unit:

You answered my concern thanks.

I like the idea of the slideing the TV onto the mount, makes it a lot more practical to put on and take off the mount when traveling.

Happy Camping !!!
