Kitchen Shelves

Kitchen storage can be a challenge and there are only so many modifications you can easily make.

We wanted an easily accessible shelf for our Tea collection some storage for the spices we use most often. The left side storage area over the sink has the majority of our spices, but it seemed it would make sense to have quick and easy access for the things we like best, beyond salt and pepper.

Ikea had the answer. I found these nifty little shelves on one of our rainy day walk abouts in the great blue box. The only down side I had was they do not come with a template for the screws, so I had to figure one out. But so far they have worked out marvelously.

They came out nice! Good job.

Ideas, that seems to be the best thing about sharing pics of our camper mod's.

Each floor plan has slightly different setups, but one thing usually holds true, you seem to always need a little more organization to make things better. Like your tea and spices. These simple small things can make a big difference.

In our case it was the paper towel holder and the need of a shelf to hold things while at camp up off the countertop as we have very little to no kitchen countertop.

This is how our camper came in the galley area

Sunline created the spice rack, and we have good storage, but when you setup camp, there is not a lot of space to put anything on the counter. We already converted the stove top to have a removable cutting board top when the burners were not in use, and that helped a lot. But we were still needing something more. And the Sunline paper towel holder just did not work were it was mounted. Not sure if the prior owner mounted it there or Sunline did.

So I built a shelf unit to hold the paper towel holder and hold loose odds and ends after camp is set up. It works well and for our floor plan, it dresses it up.

Thanks for sharing your little shelf upgrades.

John

That is a really awesome shelf and towel rack. Great use of space. My towel rack is mounted to the wall by the front window. With a full roll it is kind of difficult to use, so I am looking at moving that as well. Thanks! B
