HDTV reception, really a lot of snow on TV screen

Does anyone know how to "filter" the reception to the new HDTV's?
When we turn on the stove fan or bathroom fan the TV turns to all snow reception. Appreciate any suggestions and where to buy "whatever" that would stop this from happening.

It is not "snow" like we used to think of it on analog televisions which was due to weak or distant signals. It's electrical interference from the simple motors in the fans. If you get odd crackling noises in your TT's AM radio when the fans are on, it's the same cause.

I did a quick google search on "electric noise dtv" (without the quotes) and found a whole bunch of sites that describe the problem and offer lots of solutions.

The least expensive solution, is a ferrite core filter that just clips onto the power cord of the TV. There are a lot of them out there, and may be available at electronics stores like Best Buy. Radio Shack might even have them. Ferrite cores can be an easy and reliable solution to this problem.

Here's a link to the first one that came up. It pretty well shows what a ferrite core is. http://www.hdtvsupply.com/nosu.html
