Has anyone seen one of these?

Saw one years ago on a Prowler (1970s/80s)

For what it's worth, if there is no one making them and there's enough interest, I could probably have them made... I may have one made anyway...

That looks like a diagram from a patent.

Before I start guessing what it is, as I can read several things into it…. What is the intended use?

My thought too. It looks like a tongue jack with 2 feet. Is it used to "walk" the tongue in tight locations?

I have not seen one in person, but in pictures. I was told it is used to assist you hitching up the trailer. Supposedly, once you get your tow vehicle backed up to your trailer, this device will then move the tongue left or right so that it will drop down onto the ball. (Tongue has to be raised enough to clear the ball so it can move into position to drop onto the ball) This eliminates having to get in/out of vehicle several times to get aligned if hitching by yourself. IT's sorta like a jack only designed to lay sideways and move sideways.

Thats my story and I don't know that it's correct. but it's what I was told.

We got something like it when we bought our coach. It's from the same folks that make the Hensley Arrow.

http://www.safetowingstore.com/product-p/40015.htm

As you can see, they refer to it as a hitch helper. We have not had to use it yet.

OK, more blonde thinking. I get the concept of this "helper" but I really wonder how it would do on a double or triple axle trailer. I bet it is great on a single axle TT or pup.

HUM, wonder if we could make it work on our Sunline

Yep, he moved it by hand , "HAND SIGNALS" to let me know which way to turn the trailer to get it in the spot where the 299 used to sit.

Were you able to sell the 299 frame then? I saw you had it listed on CL...

I have a whole folder of smileys, in my photobucket account. When I see one I like, it gets dumped there...
