grey tank valve question

i am in the process of enclosing the underside of the trailer and heating the tanks -- my only barrier thus far is the grey tank valve - it is located right on the side frame and well away from where the heat will be.

i would like to reuse the valve if possible - just cut the lines a few inches
from the valve and using standard plumbing stuff - re-attach it a bit further inside the underside --- how do i extend the handle - is that possible?

thoughts - suggestions?

MACK C-85 is an unknown quantity at this point
There is a picture of extended valve handles and a discussion about them coming apart in this thread:

Here is company offering a 10"-12" extension kit:

They also offer cable operated valves if you don't have straight shot for rod.

My trailer has long (almost full width of coach) from the factory. The handle is threaded on, so all you need to do is unscrew the handle, add a piece of threaded rod, and screw the handle back on the piece of rod.
