Chair Mod
I wish I could remember who in this forum told me about this but thank you.
I removed the feet from the frame of my chair and put 2x4 spacers between them. The additional height is now perfect for sitting at the table.
Thanks

Hi Paul
You mean this one?
I do not know if I was the 1st, but I did this before SOC existed....
If I was the one you saw it from, glad it helped as it did help me. I know a few others have done this as well. Sharing ideas is part of what SOC is all about.
John

That is a good idea. With my bad knee, it would probably be great to have the chair higher. My only question is have you had an occasion to remove the chair from the coach with the modification? When we camp with friends and the weather is not too promising, I will remove the chair to make room for two stools. In the small 2363 it allows for more seating room at the table. It is a tight fit to remove. I think I would have to design something to allow it to come off??

The chair mod with the 2 x 4 still goes thru a 2004 T2499 door opening. have to fanagle it but it goes. Sorry I do not know what that is any more but it is most likley like yours.

Jay, I did a double lift on my chair using two pair of 2x4's for a 3" rise. I have not had an opportunity to remove the chair from the trailer so I can't comment on that.
But, one could replace the hex nuts with wing nuts making it a bit easier to disassemble.

I remember posting a bunch of photos of this on there a long time ago, but I thought I learned about it here on the forum first
We now got rid of that old chair and just use a really nice Mesh Office chair that can raise up and down, swivel, recline and is 100x's more comfortable. It's got the mesh seat and back, so it's much cooler than a normal chair
Probably one of my favorite upgrades

Since this thread is already talking about the swivel chair, I have a question. When the swivel chair is strapped in it is pushing heavily against the lambrequin (window valance). I have had to repair the stripped out screw because the chair bashed the lambrequin loose in transport. Is there a better way to transport the swivel chair so it doesn't continue to try to damage the lambrequin?

I too for a time went to an office chair. Since it rolled like ice hockey... I created a different strap location.
I never could get the original Sunline strap to work on our swivel rocker. The straps went from the door wall to the main rear window wall. There was no way the strap they provided woud go across the chair. At least on mine as I thought Kittys actually worked.
So I created my own strap system for the blue swivel rocker. I do not have a pic of the blue rocker in it but this was an attempt when I changed chairs to use the new strap location that did work with the blue swivel rocker.
See here the blue strap location on the office chair. This did not work for the office chair but did for the swivel rocker.
Here you can barley see the strap next to the right side of the rocker
Maybe something like this might help your camper. Your window treatments where different then ours.

John,
Thanks for the excellent answer to the problem. You are correct the window treatments are different, I didn't realize that, so I included a pic of the situation on my Sunline. Right now, with the chair strapped, the chair beats the heck out of the rear window lambrequin.
If I mod the rocker with the spacers to sit at a more comfortable height, you can see in the pic that the side window lambrequin will then also take a beating, it just barely clears now. Time to put the straps on the frame under the sofa and flip the rocker face down and secure it like you did.
Again, great idea of yours to correct the problem!
