Axle flip
I have a 2004 2363, after dragging the tail on the driveway we decided to do the flip, after the axle flip, our step was way too high for my wife and dogs, so I made a step with 4x4s and diamond plate, this last trip to pinch pond we had to put blocks under the door side and the step didn't help, so I hit lowes. Fabricated a step using square tubing, now the step needs removed before towing but gives me the extra I needed for the wife and dogs, all that is left is to add the diamond plate, add braces on the sides, drill holes to put in pins so the step doesn't move in or out when in use, and finally paint. Here is what I have so far. Keep in mind im not a welder, just a Do it yourselfer, haha. More pics to follow as I move along. Thanks for looking, Mike. Ok I rarely get time through the week before work, but today I got lucky, it's 99% finished, I started today by putting on the braces on the sides, then drilled trough the receiver and step frame to put it a pin so the step wouldn't wiggle in and out during use. I then cleaned up all the welds as best I could, again I'm no welder so this took a little work haha. Once I got it cleaned up, I cut the step out of aluminum, notched the back of it to fit nicely around the frame of the step and riveted it down. Then I added some non slip grip tape. Then lastly paint, all I had on hand was flat black, so I'm gonna get some semi gloss and give it another coat. Only thing to do yet is get a few 1" square caps to close up the holes of the tubing. Thanks for looking, hope this someday may help someone after an axle flip or someone who has trouble getting in and out of their sunny. Here's the pics, Mike.
PS. I hope they go through in the right order?!?

Hey Mike,
Looks great! Can you make me a set? I'm finishing up my axle flip on my T-2553 as we speak. I can already tell I will have to address the step height issue.

Finally got the caps on to clean it up a bit and gloss black paint, also added a camco support underneath to help with the downward pressure. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415456626.309740.jpg

Zombie, I'd love to help, the only thing is, I did this all on the fly, just a tape measure, reciprocating saw, and a welder, didn't really have a plan, just kind of started and went with it as it came together, where are you located?

Can you link to this Camco support? Have not heard of that one yet. May be able to use it on other applications.
Thanks for sharing.

Yup that's the one, a nice little support, and best part is it folds up out of the way and stores with the step.

Thanks! I'll put that away in the memory cells for a future day. (I hope it sticks...)
