AC options

I have a chance to buy a 1986 T1661 TT. It appears to be in somewhat mint condition, based on the posted pictures. An in-person inspection could say differently.
BUT...it does not have an AC unit.
I see plenty of used, working, AC units for sale online, no problem there.
But, my question is: Do most/all of these Sunlines have a prewire in the ceiling where the ceiling vent is, whether it has AC or not?
Or would the wiring be part of the option when the AC is ordered from factory?
If there's already a pre-wire then to install an AC unit after the fact should not be an issue. Anyone know for sure?

Also, is the factory roof ribbing automatically in place to hold the weight of the AC, by original design or is that something that would have to be modified?

I believe by 1986, they were prepped and wired. There should be a small junction box on the ceiling labeled with "Prewire for A/C", or something like that. Usually it will be near a roof vent which would be removed to make the A/C work. That vent should have extra reinforcement to support the A/C. Most '80s Sunlines didn't come with A/C, it was a dealer added option.

Awesome. That's exactly what I thought. The hardware should be in place. I recall my T1750 also had that junction box and if the reinforcement is there then there should be no problem.

I just wanted to check on the forum before I buy the trailer. It looks solid and clean but I only saw it online and like I said, a closeup could reveal bad news, or not.
Thanks for the info

Yeah there should be a 20 amp breaker and a J box in the over head often with a short piece of EMT to the 14X14 vent

TvI also own a 1986 1661 and yes, the ceiling junction box is there as was the 20 amp breaker. However, my ceiling was badly damaged from a broken vent leak left undetected over a 2 yr period by previous owner. It has all been repaired but I wouldn't put an AC unit on it now unless it was permanently parked...so I have decided if it was needed I could put a small portable ac in the shower and vent thru the rear window..we would never use the shower anyway. Much less expensive alternative and could be used in my house also! We had some very hot weather this summer and with the better insulation he used in the ceiling, just a small fan was fine while I was working in there. I didn't have AC on my first 1661 and we did quite a bit of summer travel, again just using a fan..such a small space is managed pretty easily.
