Only 8 sites left in the Ash Loop at Rocky Gap. So if you’re thinking about coming out...make those reservations today!
Sites still available are:
2
3
4
5
7
20
21
22
I also want to add that sites 20, 21 and 22 are small sites. They are also prone to being muddy if it does rain that week. But there is still good sites left!
Rocky Gap M&G is going to be a nice laid back, stress free weekend enjoying the company of fellow SOC members. The park has lots of activities to choose from, for those who wish to do so. We recommend the wonderful hiking trails, and stopping in at the Aviary to see the owls, bald eagle, and other birds of prey. If sitting back and relaxing is your thing…there is nothing better than that either!
Friday evenings are always busy for those coming in and setting up. We will be having a campfire on site 9 where hot dogs, a few side dishes and a smore and popcorn station will be set up. As always fresh coffee, hot tea and hot chocolate will be available.
Saturday Breakfast will include a Make Your Own Belgian Waffle Station, Sausage and Made To Order Eggs, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, hot tea, and Juice will be provided.
Saturday Pot Luck Dinner
David has agreed to bring his smoker to make some hickory smoked pork BBQ.
*I will post a sign up list for those interested in bringing a dish*
Saturday Night
We will be having a roaring campfire, complete with smores and popcorn station.
Sunday Breakfast
We know Sundays are always a busy day for those who are leaving, so we will be providing old cereals, bagels and cream cheese, fruit, coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate and juice.
All of these are optional, but they will be available for those interested.

It is time for the GTG YET !!!!!!!!!! WOW, David & Maryann you guys are planning to really put on a fantastic GTG. I hope we have great weather that weekend.
Let us know "if" you need help with anything, I will volunteer Gary for whatever, HEHEHE !
PS, we just got home, we did a quick boon-docking trip yesterday as we went to see SOC members "Like2camp", Bill and Marilyn so we could see their new Big Horn in person.
AND NO we have no plans to get a Big Horn.

Thank you Kitty!!! We have exactly 104 days left till the M&G.
So happy you guys got to get out this weekend! I take it your feeling much better? We like getting out and looking at other campers...but we always want to keep our Sunny. The only thing we might do in the future, is buy a second camper. We have been tempted several times, but until we find something where the quality is what we want we will just stay with using Sunny on all our trips. We have been wanting to get out and go camping, but with work and me having surgery sometime in the next couple weeks ( nothing major but might take me a couple months to recover) it is very hard to get away. I would love to though!
I hope the M&G weekend will have nice weather. Even know in May we sometimes get a good rain. We did manage to buy a new Coleman 12x12 canopy just incase we need it. That is as big as the park will let us have. Unless we reserve another site just for the canopy...and that makes no sence to me at all. But it is what it is and we will make the best out of it.
We are working on the firewood. We have some friends who live out western Maryland and they allowed us to cut some firewood there, to keep there ( so we won't be importing wood from WV) so far we have about a half of pickup load. So no one else has to buy firewood. There will always be one at site #9 or you can take some back to your site for privacy for those who wish to do so. That's another reason we love Rocky Gap. The sites are together, but plenty of privacy and room. (except there are a few short sites for smaller units).
Thanks for the offer of helping! That means alot to us.
~Mary Ann

Just an update on site reservations for the Rocky Gap M&G.
There are 6 sites left, but only 3 that are of a nice size for a Sunline. The other three are shorter sites.
So if your thinking about or wanting to come out to the M&G please reserve asap!
The good sites left are: 3-5-7 ( site 5 being a really nice site)
95 days till the M&G... Getting closer!
If you have already reserved and you are not on our list, please let us know so we know how many to plan for.
So far we have:
Site# 4: Dave & Debbie
Site # 9: David & Mary Ann
Site #10: Wendy & Larry
Site #11: Billy & Linda
Site #12: Kitty & Gary
Site #13: Hope & Richard
Site #14: Pam & Steve
Site #16: Barb & Rich

But, with it now being March more and more folks will begin "booking" summer vacations, SO those 6 sites probably won't last too long, so I'd suggest if your "on the fence" about attending, make a reservation now, you can always cancel. With the rising cost of fuel, I think more & more folks are going to be looking at the state & national parks in order to cut down on the cost of camping
Hum, think Gary and I better look into booking a weekend at Shenandoah River State Park before it is booked solid.

Shenandoah River? That might be a nice place for a Virginia Meet & Greet

We never really needed a reservation with SRSP.... but of course hardly anyone knew about the place last year. I am sure now we will HAVE to have one! Actually we went on holidays last year and just drove in, picked a spot...no problem. I wish all campgrounds were that easy.

If anyone is thinking about coming to this M&G, there's only 1 site left - #7. It says it's for max. vehicle length of 20', but I sure don't remember any small sites. I bet there's some wiggle room

Site 7 is bigger than they claim. It will be the site behind us (#9). I have pictures of the sites on our website. I have seen a 32 foot TT in site 7, so it is possible. The only bad part would be the sharp turn to back in, since 7 is sort of toward the end of the loop, but again.. I have seen plenty of people do it. The small sites are on the other side of the loop.

43 Days to go!!!!
There are no sites left in Ash loop, but I will keep and eye on the parks reservation page and if there is a cancellation I will post here on the forum! There are plenty of sites still left within the park...but they are non-electric.
If you haven't signed up for the Saturday night Pot-Luck... please do so here: Pot-Luck Signup.

Oh yeah! So nice to have her back on her parking pad and I can look out my windows and see her. We are going somewhere this weekend...not sure where yet. We ran out of time today to put some wax on her, but while David is working this week I will get her waxed.
When you get ready to put your new tires on...let us know..we would be more than happy to help. Or anytime you need a hand, just give us a call.
come on May....

We wanted to post to see if anyone who is coming out to Rocky Gap would be interested in getting our rigs together in front of Lake Habeeb for a group photo? It was just an idea I was thinking would be great for the SOC calendar. It might take a little planning. I know there is plenty of room in the parking lot.
It might work...might not... just throwing it out there.
