Reasons to Get Together
Do Sunline owners ever get together to camp and socialize? Food for thought, maybe.

I think that would be a wonderful idea. I know Sunnybrook owners do it!

I third the idea.
Now all we need is a camp ground fairly common to a group that wants to go.
We are in Central Ohio and we are willing to drive to any end of the state and fairly into the next surrounding ones to meet up with some fellow Sunliners. Or if you want to come here we know most all State Parks in the Ohio system and there are some real nice ones.
Work is a little bit off the wall this year, but I'm still game to try. If the dates for the groups fits, let’s go camping...
Any more takers?

We live just North of Albany, so an Adirondack or Western NY trip would be nice for us. It's just a question of scheduling as we've got a season full of various travels scheduled from March thru September - car, cruise, trailer (2 long trips).

Reasons to Get Together
Being from central Pennsylvania, Ohio or New York would be no problem for us. I agree that finding a time could be a bit of a problem but it's January and there's plenty of time. Hopefully a 3-day weekend (arrive Friday & depart Sunday) in late summer or the fall could be agreed upon. That would leave finding a location. Then everyone could help spread the word about a Sunline get-together.

OK, MINDREADERS mdfiregal (my better half) and I were just wondering this past weekend what the interest in a SUNLINE rally might be!! We were thinking central/western PA seeing how most of the locations given on the site seem to be mostly on the upper east coast. We're in MD near the Cheasapeake Bay Bridge.

Sunline Rally?
If it's in western NY I would recommend the southern tier finger lakes region. Also anywhere in PA works for us!!!

Greetings all,
I know this would be based on a huge assumtion, and everyone knows what happens when one assumes. However, with all the rumors on a possible re-birth of Sunline, and making the assumtion that the factory tour would return, what if we did a get-together in the Lancaster area for a factory tour. I know I am making an A** of myself, but at least think about it in case we get some good news in the future.
In the meantime I hear that the Corp of Army Engineers has a nice campground at Ralstown Lake (sp?) in PA. Haven't been there yet, does anybody have any experience there?
Regards,
MM

While the Sunline Factory would be like an 8 hour drive for me, I still might be game for it.
Just think what the new owners and employees would fell like if a bunch of happy customers came for a tour and they had their Sunlines with them? Talk about a moral booster... For them and Us!
Almost like the Saturn car get togethers at the factory years ago when they started out.
Don't know much about the camp ground you are referring to so I can't help there, but I'm open to a Sunline get together. And the Corps generally build good things. Just about every reservoir around here was built buy them with some kind of state park or so around it.
Thanks
John

Good Evening Sunliners,
The Corp of Engineers capmground is "Seven Points", located in Hesston, PA on Raystown Lake. BEAUTIFUL place, but harder that all HE** to get reservations for. I am a little over 2 hours south of there, and never seem to be able to get in. It would also be a really long day trip from there to the Sunline factory "IF" it were to re-open. But as of today, word I heard is that it's not looking good.
If you can get into ReserveAmerica and manage to get a reservation, I'm sure you'll be very happy at Seven Points.
Kitty

Hello Kitty,
Sorry for the pun.
Yes I agree the Raystown Lake would be too far for the Sunline Plant. I was offering that alternative as an idea for the NY and OH members as a place for a general get together. If reservations are tough however, it may not be a good idea.
Kitty, I have read you posts on this and other forums and I know you were one of the first with the sad news of the plant closing. In the past you had seemed to know something that you couldn't tell. Your latest post indicated that you you maybe losing hope. As I have posted before the longer it goes before a new venture is formed the more of the market share is lost to the new owners as well as the workforce that must at this time have moved on to greener pastures. I surley hope something happens soon but I fear we may never get the good news we were all hoping for.
On the plus side is that we have one of the best coaches on the road today and truth is at this point I would not trade it for anything.
Regards,
MM

Hey MM,
Your right, Raystown Lake, Seven Points is a wonderful place, IF you can get a resrvation.
Yes, I believe I was one of the first few posters about Sunline closing. I would not post it until I got the info from a VERY reliable source. Now I have learned that the possible deal with Lance isn't happening, BUT there is still another possibility, and I don't believe it's Skyline.
Now, all of us that currently own Sunline Coaches can do is protect them for they are now non-replacable. And for anyone wanting to own a superior COACH, they better be getting to a dealer and snatching one of the few remaining units on their lot.
Kitty

Sunline Meet and Greet
Well IF it had not been for our mini van troubles in the past summer we would not be the VERY HAPPY owners of a 2004 T2499. We would be happy to get together as a group sometime this summer. As of now we "Might" be going to Winnipeg Manitoba for a three week trip in Aug. Here in Canada we have some three day holidays in the summer and one is Labour day which is the first Monday in Sept. A days drive from here would be NW New York Ohio Western PA or even Lower MI. I think it would be soooooo Cool if it all worked out. All we can say right now is we are open to it but have to decide when there is more information available. You all sound like a great group to meet with.

I think a Sunline owners get together is a great idea! This is something we would definitely like to attend, but it depends on when and where. Our summer camping season is starting to fill up very quickly, so if we are going to be able to attend a get together we would have come up with some dates pretty soon.
I like the idea of a get together near the Sunline plant, however if all of our fears come true and the plant does not reopen, then I would suggest the get together should take place somewhere central in the northeast.

I think this is a great idea as well! Is anyone planning this shin-dig, or are "we" looking for volunteers? I don't mind helping out and organizing, I just did not want to step on anyone's toes!
